  1. I have spokesmen on occasion about homes - not financial investment in property. No one I know cares how much their house is worth it is where they live and their home. If we talk about where we live we may talk about what we have done in the garden, or if we have had new carpet of if we have been out with the neighbours etc. I have no idea how much my house is worth and I do not care I have no intention of moving. When I am out with family and buddies or popping into the local for a couple of beers or meeting mates at a sports event not one if us ever talks about house prices. We talk about sport, where we have been for a meal who we have seen, TV, music etc. I doubt that prices have risen since 2016 although I stand to be corrected on that. The fact that people are buying houses when there are many predictions of price falls shows that they are not motivated by making money on a home and do not see it as financial investment but as a home to live in. The person who seems to be obsessed about house prices is your good self.
  2. yes After 11 weeks of lockdown, thousands of high street shops, department stores and markets across England - as well as zoos and safari parks - can start reopening from next week. In the latest easing of coronavirus lockdown measures, from Monday 15 June non-essential shops will be able to open their doors for the first time since 23 March. And zoos and other outdoor attractions where people stay in their cars, such as safari parks and drive-in cinemas, will also be allowed to reopen on the same day. Non-essential retailers, including clothes shops and indoor markets, will be allowed to reopen if they have completed a COVID-19 risk assessment and can implement social distancing measures
  3. Maybe most people do not see a home as a financial investment - they see it as a home. Anyone who has bought from 2016 on has probably not seen a lot of gain in terms of property value. Not everything is about profit and loss.
  4. Agreed - we are short of housing but some people want mass uncontrolled immigration then complain about the price of property and rents DUH
  5. or maybe just buy as a home and not a financial investment
  6. The BBC is totally woke and loves immigration and would never do anything to be seen to be racist. I think S/O is denoted as affordable rather than social but I agree with the point you make. Any English guy who works and pays tax and who goes to LA and asks for a subsidised council house will be told they are not eligible. Come to the country having never paid tax, no job, with 3 kids and they get housed. Sickens me.
  7. Everything should be free for everyone A valuer will only spend 10 minutes in a flat if that. They do not look at the structure or materials used. To have that report done requires the surveyor to be instructed to do a full structural survey cost £1000 plus. Many people will assume on a new or modern property it is under warranty so does not need a full structural.
  8. What annoys you is that I do not agree with everything you say. I have agreed with any number of other posts on here. You are rude to people who have a different opinion to your own from behind your keyboard. This is being an internet troll. What annoys you is that I do not agree with every single word you say. It is a forum. Property has a passing interest to me. Not as much as Spurs or harlequins to be fair but passing. I have never ever once said that anyone is a loser. That is just not something I would ever dream of saying. I have not said that house prices are going up either. I am not a crystal ball gazer I have no idea what they will do. I do not subscribe to the idea that they will fall hugely. I am sorry if that offends you but I do not have to have to same opinion as you hold. I am not. I am not at all worried - if they go down or up it does not bother me - I have no intention of moving for I would guess about 20 years. I do. You seem to care and get angry. I have no mortgage. I sold a business and we made a conscious decision to buy a house with no mortgage. Personally I prefer it to renting.
  9. I am not responsible for every single person on the planet. I am responsible for myself my family and friends and indeed the people who for me me to a greater or lesser extent
  10. So anyone and everyone should be able to cum to the uk even if they cannot speak english - have no money - no where to live ? In a country which like all other counties is going to have a recession and no jobs! And where do they all live?
  11. You cannot complete on H2B if u own another property or have another mortgage
  12. My view is if a person has skills the UK needs such as doctors then I am happy with it. My own GP is a guy from Pakistani could not wish for a better guy. I do not think we have any need to people who have no real job skills and cannot even speak the language properly and cannot write an e mail. I have had people sent to me for interview who cannot speak coherent English. That is no use to me at l. I cannot have people who cannot speak the language talking to my clients. That said I have also had people who have been born in the UK coming for an interview and doing all the ridiculous ghetto talk which makes them equally unemployable for me.
  13. The HK people have money and are educated and will integrate in our society. This is the constant rant of the left and why Labour got smashed last time. Until they stop calling people names who do not agree with them they will not entice people to vote Labour on large numbers.
  14. No I have a business involved in AI as it happens. I think anyone who wanted to "talk the market up" would look for a medium which had more than around 6,000 followers on the list! I could not care less if the price of our house goes up or down. I have no intention of moving cfor many years. If it goes up the price of the next house I buy will have gone up as well. If it goes down the price kof the next house I buy will have gone down as well. Never had BTL - never would - especially now. As for my life - I am happy with it. I have not been on for 4 days as have been away with work Thursday and Friday and busy at the weekend with family and having a few beers with friends. The idea of a forum is to get other viewpoints which I do. Some of which I agree with - some of which I do not. If all you want is for other people to pat you on your back and tell you are are correct all the time a forum is not the right ;place for you. That is not how a forum works - see definition below. Oxford Dictionary definition below a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
  15. Isn't that begging the question. Are they actually trolls or do they just have different views? But, for the actual trolls, its because there are always trolls, everywhere, on every internet site. And since house prices are such an emotional topic it is prime hunting ground. But not everyone who has a different opinion about buying a house is a troll. Exactly - anyone who does not subscribe to the opinion that property prices will fall hugely has to be a troll, never someone who just has a different opinion. OMG If you think it is too much do not buy it! Me? no. I do not care if prices go up or down. My house in not a financial investment it is a home. If prices go up the next house I buy in years to come will have gone up, if they go down they next house I buy will have gone down.
  16. Sad to say I think there is much truth in what you say. There are people who thought they were great financial wizards who could have bought after 2008 but did not thinking that prices would go down further and laughing at those who did buy. These are the same people who critisise others for buying a home that has gone up in value! Why? I would imagine that anyone who bought 17 years ago would have seen an increase in the value of their property. Not hat it natters to me. More importantly even of they had not overpaid on a mortgage they would have 8 years to go before the loan was paid off.
  17. I think 2011 may have been the bottom I think it had started to move a tad by 2012 - not 100% sure of that though.
  18. Yes, they are showered with privileges. LOL I am so pleased that my electrician has been showered with the privilege of working 6-7 days a week for the last 2 years to be able to buy a home for himself and his wife and kid. That privilege is open to anyone who wants to take advantage of it. I and she who is in charge are also very privileged to have been able to buy my own house by working. I have not used H2B by the way.
