  1. We need to negotiate on goods tariffs/customs union before we can leave...a bad deal could badly hit British businesses...Uk is a hub into Europe... additional costs will quickly end that status and tio the economy into recession.
  2. Agreed.... looks like a sweetheart deal with the taxpayer picking up the tab for any tarriffs...another brexit cost
  3. It was a non binding referendum with a slim majority...when all the negative implications are known in full who is going to push it through and risk pushing their party into oblivion.
  4. I have to ask whats is the point? The technology will probably cost more than drivers..If we want conveys why not use the rail network?
  5. Why would any investor buy in an out of the way place like Ashford in a falling market?
  6. Evasion is illegal where avoidance is legal. Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes. I am not condoning these artificial schemes and there is plenty of legislation already in place to deal with this type of arrangement. Pushing the criminal boundary this too far will mean that HMRC will be able to determine how much tax we pay without any right to take the benefit of using perfectly legal allowances or arrangements.
  7. most own assets in tax havens outside the scope of uk tax ..source unknown...they can live in the uk for many years paying tax only on uk source income whereas the rest of us pay tax on global income...is this fair? Especially if you look closely at the sources of this income.
  8. . Exodus of bankers and money launderers, house prices fall ...sounds like losing a small amount of tax is a fair price to pay
  9. +1 Use video conferencing. No housing allowances ...free up their time to looking after their constituency.
