  1. Not at all it would encourage people to look after themselves. The alternative is bailouts which are as wrong on a personal level as they are when done for the banks
  2. The state pension should be abolished it is a ponzi and you would never get that return most people get from an investment of the same amout of cash. If you want to eat in retirement then you save for it. Nobody asked future generations if they wanted to pay for the previous generations pension. Just because the post war generation agreed they would make it much more generous to their predecessors doesnt mean we the population of today should be willing to uphold that deal. i would rather have the NI contributions i make for state pension left with me for me to be responsible for providing in my retirement. Personally i would go back to 1909 State pension scheme means test it (nothing above £21 a year adjusted for inflation obviously) and set it at such a low about you wouldnt choose to rely on it and make it pay out on average nine years like it did then.
  3. Pumping water horizontally is expensive, just ask any farmer who has to pump water from channels in east anglia you can pump it very far and often you need many pumps in series to repressure the water i've seen it done. the south has a watershortage because it is overpopulated like i have a cash shortage because i spend too much. In both cases we could reduce demand by reducing population/spending rather than earning more/or bigger infrastructure. That said i do support reservoir building so long as it is beneficial for the environment and doesnt reduce our ability to feed ourselves by removing farmland (or even it it does we then need further population reduction so we can have a sustainable population for our land size.)
  4. Oh i aggree on that we should be trying to make ouselves independent by spending on our militarty. focus on hard ecconomic development. not faffing around wit DEI roles and taking knees. China and Russia arent worrying about human rights and the rights and wrongs of asylum cases or whether the required number of black or gingers make up the correct percentage of senior roles. It is a hard world out there with survival of the fittest and we need to outcompete the competition and not get stuck down non productive rabbit holes. In the mean time china and russia are not our friends and should be treated as such.
  5. We will see globalization has been a failure for the west and exporting jobs to china. we should be striving to make ourselves independent of them.
  6. on the contrary i want nothing to do with china nor its citizens. there are hemispheres of influence and the Chinese certainly are not benign. To me they are political outcasts and they country and people should be excluded from western markets.
  7. Instead of trying to fit ever more people and demand into this overcorwded and overstreached country fuelling the ponzi scheme that is an ever increasing population cant we have less people? You may call them nimbys but they are no worse than the pro immigration lot one wants to flood the country with people the other wants to stop it being built over. Look at a map of the south east in the early victorian era you see a world before mass population growth a greener britian one that i certainly prefer.
  8. The land registry is the best. But doesnt show the mythical falls like the recession we are supposedly in. Much like a plateau without wanting to sound like stewey with inflation eroding the debt.
  9. However before that in victorian era and before it was impossible surely the 50-90s were the anomoly
  10. The recession has finished the BoE came out and said as much.
  11. This forum users really can't help themselves hpc bingo when data doesn't fit the narrative. This is bad data for house price crash hopes. Yet this response is the first response.
  12. Why bother Scotland isn't going to vote Tory anyway.
  13. Totally disagree because it won't be at the expense of the arts subjects but science and maths. Maths and science has been degraded so much since the 1960s in terms of what is taught unless we keep kids in school longer I can't see how it would be included.
  14. I have worked very hard to avoid lifestyle creep whilst keeping earning more. I have battered 14 year old car. Small 2 bed council house brought for cash all because I grow my own food and have the same lifestyle I had as a student. It's not expensive and not difficult. We on less than 20k a year dispute earning 6 times that gross. It's not really that difficult.
  15. Good anything to discourage property speculation is good.
  16. That's rubbish you can easily eat a nutritious meal for a pound a day per person hell knock yourself out and spend £2 per person per day that's 8x 7 so £56 a week. I do this it isn't rocket science or difficult. Just basic budgeting and eating sensibly.
  17. I guess it shows that answering yes to all doesn't make you far right or whatever that means. I think most right wing principles are just decent values that the majority support anyway.
  18. It was when I tried to buy one in 2015 I had to get the housing associations approval and have a salary below a certain level.
  19. To be fair the police act very differently policing the left compared to the right. That is what he was suggesting.
  20. This is my thoughts too they might get one seat. 2029 however I expect them to be a serious political force.
  21. I feel sorry the people of Rotherham feel the way they do I personally wouldn't have expressed it that way.
  22. It is a very stupid quiz. As a lot of the left feminism would answer yes to it too.
