Sunak can't afford to spend/print 2.5% of GDP on defence. The UK has no economy left other than debt in 2024. Everyone and their dogs are hip deep in sh1t and it's only getting worse.

Borrowing worthless fiat is as idiotic a system as everyone being allowed to print worthless fiat themselves to go shopping with. It's exactly the same. Creating currency out of thin air to buy real resources with. The issue of course is that there's unlimited amounts of bent fiat to create out of nothing, but only a finite amount of natural resources available on planet earth to use up. Debtors are the ones who are desperate imo. Who borrows created out of thin air fiat over a 30 or 40 year term without adding up how much they actually pay back over the term? Someone who doesn't know how APR works?

Millions of working people get tax credits because their wage isn't enought to live on. This tells us all we need to know about whether 'work pays' or not. The taxpayer is subsidising zombie businesses who really just need sent to the grave. Beyond pathetic is where the UK is heading.

Yeah but we still have free movement in, but I can't go and live in Spain on a British passport. Literally the worst of all worlds is what we now have.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that for most people, the lack of free movement is the worst part of Brexit. Going to get much worse from October too. If we keep Brexit but get some kind of free movement deal, I think most would be reasonably happy with that as it makes it much easier to leave the UK if needed.

It would be for any UK citizen who needs it. Ikea could through up millions of flat-packed boxes today and we all know it. The housing issue has nothing to do with not being able to provide shelter. The problem is too many VI's wanting to leech and using shelter as weapon to manipulate others. It's sleezy at best but then, many humans are.

It sounds to me like many people are bitter about working full time and having a huge mortgage. Council housing should always be cheap, small and in poorer areas. Most will aspire to more onto something better. Some won't, but it's cheaper for the taxpayer to pay a council rent than a btl rent. Common sense tells us this.
