  1. Haha is this list some kind of joke? "Corner Shop" as a kind of business?? Get 'em all banged up anyway, but let's go for some big players. Or are they too scary?
  2. Can't believe this guy is getting more airtime. I thought he was selling up years ago
  3. OK - it ISNT going to pass tonight. Place no bets. We are NOT LEAVING.
  4. Eh? Love that the prediction was 0.1%. I fully expect a nice 3% increase next month too.
  5. https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/is-the-anti-tax-avoidance-directive-the-reason-the-rich-want-out-of-eu-1-5669763 https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1034134/brexit-news-eu-tax-policies-uk-brexit-latest-jacob-rees-mogg Ive heard/seen the rumour elsewhere too
  6. Sorry - https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/company-tax/anti-tax-avoidance-package/anti-tax-avoidance-directive_en "The Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive contains five legally-binding anti-abuse measures, which all Member States should apply against common forms of aggressive tax planning. Member States should apply these measures as from 1 January 2019." The member states have to report to each other every three months. How much the public gets to know abuot I have no idea
  7. ATAD is in "force" now. The first public uploads should be interesting.
  8. “March could be the month the property market finally succumbs to madness.”" Im not sure what is meant by this
  9. Just thought I would pop in again to say we aren't leaving so worry not. Enjoy the sun everyone!
  10. From here: https://www.financialreporter.co.uk/finance-news/subdued-prices-return-housing-affordability-to-2011-levels-rightmove.html "Northern regions are seeing annual asking price growth of over 2%, while sellers in southern regions are seeing hesitancy to come to market tumbleweed."
  11. Ha these guys really are professors of the art of the complex, subtle, psychological sell. Edward Bernays would have been proud! "The manager's gone crazy!!!!"
  12. I see that, and given that larger homes are increasing in value at a greater rate than smaller ones (see December ONS) your argument seems even more appropriate.
  13. Possibly, I'm just wondering if it's also sellers holding off too? Why sell now if there is likely to be a bounce?
  14. Wouldn't it be lovely if loads of people put their houses up for sale once the path forward with brexit is made clear, only for nobody to bite, thus increasing the price falls I actually believe there wont be certainty around Brexit for a couple of years (we havent even got the withdrawal agreement clarified, never mind the ongoing arrangement), so if it is an influence, it's going to weigh on the market for a good long while. Buying now is insanity. Good luck out there!
  15. Turns out they were right after all. It is -0.6... for the quarter 😆
  16. Crazy! Whatever one thinks about Brexit, doing this just undermines their own journalism, as Brexit can't put buyers off suddenly this month when last month they bought anyway despite Brexit. So as well as bias they simply have inaccuracy, which is problematic for what is supposedly a quality newspaper! Im stating the bleeding obvious so I'll just shut up.
  17. The Guardian this month: "UK house prices fall in January as Brexit puts off buyers" Last month: "Surprise increase after sluggish year comes despite uncertainty over Brexit" I can't even be bothered to speculate as to why they do this
  18. Well the prophets predicting -0.6 really earned their pay this month.
