If you are a private seller you will not be paid from paypal even if the buyer uses paypal they pay into a ebay holding account.

Ebay fees will be taken from banks directly.

I know.  You said PayPal would be gone from eBay in two weeks, I’m being pedantic, but it won’t 🤷‍♂️

Binance easy to sign up to?

I have various forks which I might as well offload.

what’s a decent wallet provider for Bitcoin cash? And the other forks?

or can I just send them my keys and they know what they are linked to?

What forks are worth claiming?  I know there was BCH in Nov 2018. I think I might have some BTC on ledger then, how do I claim the BCH?

Was there another BCH last year?

Working for oneself could be very stressful however

it’s hard to disconnect when you have your own show to run

Tell me about it!  You don’t leave it at the office when you walk out the door at the end of the day.  Financially I’ve done very well out of my business but I hate it pretty much everyday now.

Weirdly though, although I could jack it in now and live comfortably off savings until I’m 55 when I can access a decent pension from previous employment, I’ve got that “one more year syndrome” and have done for the last couple of years 🤷‍♂️

Hard to say without seeing the transaction, but could it be a batched transaction sending to you and another address at the same time, and you paid 0.001 of the fee, and someone else the 0.000372?

I thought it might be something to do with it being part of a batch but I wonder why the 0.000372 fee is showing in my Ledger but it doesn’t appear to have affected my Ledger balance?

There are several incoming transactions with the fees showing in the received transactions in my Ledger, but my Ledger balance has not changed by these figures.

The only fees that have affected my overall balance are the ones charged by Bittrex.

  5. Question on Ledger network fees:

I was looking through some old transfers from Bittrex to my Ledger.  If we take a LTC transfer for example, Bittrex charged a fee of 0.001 LTC for the transfer.  The total LTC arrived in the Ledger minus the 0.001 fee.  But the Ledger is showing another network fee of 0.000372 LTC.  However my balance has not decreased by the value of this 2nd fee.

Is that 2nd network fee part of the Bittrex fee they charged?

As an aside; I've been staking $500 of tether since the summer, along with my cryptos, so I had something I could quickly use to buy any big dips that never came. When I bought it it was worth around £400. Today its worth £351 Even with the interest from staking I am still worse off.

That’s because the £ has been getting much stronger against the $ for a few weeks now.  It’s the highest its been for about 2 years.

Bitcoiners just sell your fools gold....

Why?  You don’t know anyone on this thread personally so why do you care if they hold Bitcoin or not?  What does it matter if they decide not to sell and either lose the lot or make a profit?

If you’re going to peddle the same tripe as Saltylord that you’re trying to protect the innocent, how does that tally with telling people you don’t care about, who are in profit on paper, to sell their Bitcoin?

You’ve made it clear you’re not buying in so it is just a load of salty waaaahhh. 🤷‍♂️

It's a counter balance to the nonsense peddled on here by some posters: "buy bitcoin, hold it and retire" .

I like to gamble like anyone but do it with money I can afford to lose and without expectations of ran early retirement.

People need to wake up and get real.

Oh so you’re being the Good Samaritan, the righteous warrior defending the innocent!  What a load of tripe!!

If any of the handful of people that might actually read this thread make any serious financial decisions based on the content without doing their own research first, they should probably have a word with mummy and daddy about monitoring their internet access.

You lot buying it are gambling it's as simple as that.

And?  What’s it to you if faceless strangers on the internet want to gamble?  Why do you care?  Seems a bit odd that you expend  your time and effort in these endeavours.  It just comes across as a bit grumpy-foldy-arm-stampy-feet-I’m-right-you’re-wrong attitude, a bit like mrcrybaby123 🤷‍♂️

hopefully there will be a sell off caused by fear of hard regulation at a global level - great times ahead!

Why do you care if you have no skin in the game?

You just appear to be here to say “ner ner ner ner ner”.

What does it matter to you if some adults you don’t even know make or lose some money on bitcoin?  It’s all a bit childish really 🤷‍♂️

That seems like a big loophole.  Are you sure the £1m capital gains profit doesn't itself push you into the 40% bracket even if your income doesn't?

Pretty sure my understanding is right but happy to be corrected.

    From HMRC...

”If this amount is within the basic Income Tax bandyou’ll pay 10% on your gains (or 18% on residential property). You’ll pay 20% (or 28% on residential property) on any amount above the basic tax rate.”
