  1. I don't think its 100% gordons fault, This is all down to debt, Too much debt and now its reached the point no one can pay. However gordon said, no more boom and bust but more importantly i will not let houseprices get out of control. What happened? Low interest rates, massive debt expansion and massive house prices rises (out of control) All that money expansion and where did it go where people thought they could invest and make the best returns. Houses. How can the average person make more from houseprices going up than wages? It happened and nothing was done. When we and every other nation in the world for the last 10yrs were enjoying growth of 3%-5% gordon said it was because of him and 100% unchallenged took all the glory for it. It was all down to him. Now the global economy has turned the other way, its nothing to do with him. The whole boom was debt. Gordon is supposed to be intelligent, he got top grades, top at oxford etc . I think he knows whats going on but its all part of master plan. Debt equals dependant, and he wants dependant masses, as do the rest of world elite. Time will tell.. Time always does.
  2. Im just about to open my furk furniture store in chester. It aint great times but my rent is cheap 10k a year and 6k rates. Makes me think though!
  3. I have a friend who works for rothschild and says they are totally unaffected by any of this in there investment banking division. I also read the following. Since her marriage, de Rothschild, 48, has been based in London. Her 71-year-old husband is head of the merchant bank NM Rothschild and his family has a fortune of £500m. (It's probably far more than £500m, the Rothschilds like to play down their wealth and so minimise the extent of their political power. Ed) £500 million fortune for a banking family over 200 years old this cannot be real? The greatest trick the devil ever played is convincing people he doesnt exist. There entire family fortune is stated less than that paulson got in GS shares. I do believe it is a sinister world, controled by the elite. How can they be so under the radar and have so much control, how can they be involved in a sector that is failing and totally unscathed unless of course they knew what was going on from the start.
  4. I have heard miracle economy used a lot when describing the uk over the last 5 years, but who actually coined this phrase? and what do they mean by it? Do they mean we have actually nothing going for us but the economy is getting stronger? There is no such thing as a miracle. Either its luck, magic (a trick slight of hand) or there are plenty of suckers out there wanting to believe. I seem to remember once on the BBC after a gordon brown budget in 2003 one of the commentators describing the uk as a miracle economy.
  5. Looking at all this data and predictions it really puts me off doing anything at the moment. I am a STR and pumped the money into the business. The big numbers like this even though i STR at the peak August last year my business might go bust because no one has any money and wants to buy. Who are VI for these big numbers?
  6. Industry standard is 3.5 . So 200 sofa plus VAT would retail for 761, round up £799. Then in a sale you put it to £499. and can say 40% off. Profit is still around £250. The people who buy from me tend to be fairly wealthy. I sell high end furniture but they know its 30% of the high street prices and wealthy people tend to be much harder to sell to. They are also always bartering even though the price is low. This is proberbly why they are successful and wealthy. for the likes of MFI, DFS, IKEA etc etc its simple, 'a fool and their money is easily parted'
  7. I own a furniture company. Retailers are having a bad time of it in general. I am an online retailer and to increase profits i have to lower prices, on the high street they tend to increase the prices. The difference in price is staggering, my type of furniture i sell for around 500 something the highstreet sells for £1500. It all comes down to cost of the overheads. The furniture stays the same. I looked into a shop in chester and it was about £60k for 2,400sqft and 30k rates with bills thats 100k in costs. I would have to sell 5k a week before i made a penny and thats without any staff. That sums up retail at the moment and business in general you have to work a lot of hours to pay other for people who dont both public sector (through Taxes) and private (rents etc). General public though who dont know about furniture tend to just look a price and think the more expensive it is the better, but the item is only 20% of high street costs when selling a furniture product.
  8. Kirkby Liverpool (knowlsey South) 96% labou votes. I have a next door neighbour who works for the council. He has informed me of a number a large turning points. most of the council workers skilled/tradesmen are on decent wages 20k to 35k. However its the bosses that rake it in and bosses. There are loads of them. 60 employees in the depo 15 managers. Last month someone got sacked for printing out the all the bosses wages, average was 70k. Also there are scams they are doing 1 yrs before retirement you get a nice big wage increase cause its final salary. so 80k becomes 110k and you pension is then 75% of 110k for life. Live the dream. Also 10 got made redundant and 2 weeks later 10 new starters. From poland. The best quote he gave me was. Bring back the tories, at least they look you in the eye when they are stabbin you. The labour guys are crooks, most people are not smart and they take advantage of it and do everything behind peoples backs. I dont know anyone who will vote for them next time'. He went onto say people remortage and remortage bought a nice car few holidays but thats all gone now and all you got is less money after bills and you cant do what you could even before the boom. If it wasnt for the dole and single mums then this place would go red to blue not for the fact that conservative are any better but at least they are rubbish at lieing.
  9. Apathy is the biggest sin of this generation of people living in the UK. All it takes for evil to win is for good men to do nothing. Serious this goverment can do whatever they want. The people in the inner cities and poorer regions of the uk the mainstay of labour votes dont even watch the news and read neutral unbiased articles.
  10. The US and UK have been do some extremely creative accountancy. The only thing i see in the news is pointing down, high unemployement increased dept. Yet still they say that house prices are rising. What has happened is people have felt richer than they are for a long time and now soon its gonner be pay back. People will feel poorer. The young have felt what its like to be on average wage of 24k and feel pretty skint where are the 'werthers originals' (its what i call people who bought before 2000) can be on 16k at saisbury checkout and have a higher standard of life. I am waiting for the anikin skywaler to come and bring balance to this whole mess. BTW Cheers gordon. And so ends my first post. SSSSSSSSQqqqqqqqqueeeeeeeeek those last bit of juice out of me.
