  1. I'd just like to say that living 1000's of miles (probably) from you all, you all had me rolling in laughter Cheers guys - and you ZZG113 are truly hilarious - cheers mate.
  2. I've heard so many good things about NZ, sure does sound nice and the wife doesn't stop going on about one day moving there...... But take a look where it is on the map "World", "the", "of", "End" - are all that springs to mind
  3. No sorry, you're not right there. DogBox is simply a Troll. BBB is an Internet Fantasist. Two completely different animals altogether - yet both interesting in their own way. Hope that helps.
  4. ZZG113, Didn't you know, that according to our know-it-all-friend BBB, any normal 19yr old would have at least £25k saved up already......... BTW, where is that super mentalist these days ??
  5. Having worked for some of the largest Household name Financial Services companies (as a Computer Programmer) I can tell you (and defend to the death) that ALL Financial Advisers are Useless !! They are ONLY interested in their commissions, have NO conscience and aren't that bright. Keep away from them - the BEST person to do YOUR Financial Planning is YOU !!!!! Oh yes, and don't buy that house !!
  6. Honestly Zzg113, your command of the English language and your intellectual viewpoint is very much admired from this side of the water. Nice reply.
  7. I stopped reading once I past the opening first few words of the article: "According to NatWest......." 'Biased', 'Not', 'article', 'worthless' all immediately came to mind. (like the list Trev !)
  8. Or that you don't care what debts you leave behind when you snuff it.
  9. You do make me laugh Zzg113 Surely we can give him another chance ??
  10. Hi Pioneer, I'm not suggesting that from that one experience, it's conclusive that all americans are brighter than us brits. What I am saying or trying to get across is how positive, sure of themselves, focussed and knew what they were aiming for and why they choose their course. They also were VERY bright and their education was obviously VERY well rounded. I KNOW that we in the UK do a poor job with addressing these points with our own youth. BUT - I have / had always been of the opinion that a UK education was better than a US one. Now I'm not so sure (having seen what I have, witnessed my own family's experiences in the US compared to over in the UK and from the recent survey's on the world's best Universities). BTW, I totally agree that coursework IS the cheats favourite - back in my day 3 A Levels Grade A meant something - today people are getting 9 A Levels Grade A
  11. Sorry, got sidetracked then, BBB's started his 2005 PM campaign (quite 'white flag' stuff for a change). Yes BBB I speak 4 languages (soon to be 5). Come and join in the thread - you'll be made welcome
  12. ZZg113, As far as what the US does for the World, I'm not that keen on the country myself (McDonalds, Jerry Springer etc etc). However, as far as the individual people I met at that school were concerned - I couldn't fault them. And another thing - they were SO bright. BUT - I will admit that ONE girl from the UK made me PROUD to be british (and put everyone to shame - including all those Yanks), though she was from Fulham and had an accent to prove it (so she was hardly representative of the whole of the UK either) !!
  13. SHERWICK, I've recently spent 6 weeks at a foreign language institute - learning a new language. I'm living abroad and the school consisted of many Americans and some British all of us learning our foreign language. I am embarrassed to admit that the English students there were an embarrassment compared to the American students. The American students were so with it, knew what they wanted to go for, were so much mature. Some of them already had what I'd call high powered jobs (had Masters degrees already and also had worked for several years in top, top financial institutions). They also looked fit and healthy, took care of their appearance, very presentable etc etc etc. In comparison the UK students were quite immature, looked less fit and healthy, quite scruffy and hadn't a clue why they'd chosen their course or what they wanted to do at the end of it. In fact one of the brighter US students told me about a UK guy she befriended and was amazed that "He hasn't a clue what he wants to do with his life". Seems like they just wanted to smoke and brag about their Drinking habits I kid you not - I was quite disappointed.
  14. This is a brilliant thread ! I agree with most of what's been said (appart from the 2:2 degree people getting Master's to hide the poor degree - a 2:2 isn't poor). Having been to a good university myself (and got a 2:2 in Civil Eng.) I can't say that Engineering actually pays well - all the Engineers I knew were piss poor which is why I never went into it upon graduation (I got into computers instead - far more lucrative but also far more boring). "Back in my day...." the career guidance was crap (what career guidance ?) - by sheer luck I found my niche. I think that today, the shift is to get as many people through 'University' - the system's been dumbed down for that purpose. As someone else once said on here (not this thread) - I would never advise anyone to go to University unless the work they wanted to get into absolutely depended on it. Far better to go into the outside world and get yourself some experience in as many different fields as you can to get an idea of what you'll enjoy. Finally, in my experience, the USA is far far better at sorting out it's youth in terms of career guidance. And I agree 100% with ShERWICK. Yes, UK Banks - VERY BLANK LOOKS !!
  15. But BBB HAS created his own website (he bragged about to me in a PM) - the guy's nuts, he was a menance, a mentalist, a fantasist, a bragger, a bulls**ter, he was making it all up as he went along and he showed NO compassion over the news of the loss of a loved one which a posted here mentioned. That was the last straw and that's why he needed to be banned. Check his handiwork - it truly is sad... http://www.houseforum.co.uk
  16. No thanks. BBB is busy sending me his usual trash via the PM function. Yes, very worthless, unsubstantiated debate - I'd rather not.
  17. BBB, Have you actually ever been abroad ?? And I don't mean Birmingham.
  18. Yes Michael we've already heard that joke and it was more funny the first time. BBB, when are we going to start seeing some wierd uploaded images ?? (just so I can book your next hospital appointment). Oh and about those 4 properties you bid on yesterday - were they the green little ones or the bigger red ones ?? Or were they the Barnsley specials, "buy 3 for £5,000 each get the fourth (with sitting tenant) for free" ?? Or maybe, they were in your head seeing as you spent most of your time on internet Forums posting insults.
  19. I truly believe that BBBs medication is wearing off - trust me, the PMs will start appearing, and the dodgy images will start to be uploaded. Soon. Very soon (Where does he get the time ??)
  20. Yes, most of BBBs posts on Singingpig have been removed - they were that abusive. Mind you, he also has his own creation www.houseforum.co.uk to play with in those few seconds he's fleeting between HPC and SP (we wouldn't want an 80+ Property Fantasist to have nothing to do now would we)
  21. BF, Do you like fiction then ?? Don't worry BBB, I'm sure we're quite capable of making things up (maybe not up to your standard) but then not all of us left home with a "bucket, a sponge and some Jif". BTW, I've been watching your handiwork on that other site you seem to spend the rest of the day on, banned from there as well were you ??
  22. I can't wait to read some of BBB's stories, mind you, will have to give him time to make a few up.
