  1. "Cine Valley" Looks like Reading could become a major hub for the film industry over the next few years. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-berkshire-56526051
  2. I've uploaded the latest figures for you 🐵
  3. Hows this prediction looking now. In fact in the real world houses are being built faster than ever, getting snapped up faster than ever, landlords and tennants all reasonably happy and the jobs market pretty good all things considered.
  4. Hey long time no speak. Hows that little prediction going nearly a year on? In fact I can tell you whats happening in the real world, its all moving along nicely, the tenants are happy, the landlords are happy, houses being built left right and centre to meet demand. The job market is a little subdued but still plenty out there. Imagine what will happen once lockdown ends ;o)
  5. Nah, don't think that's the reason, they are building from scratch, any other reason? "would see the construction of a film studio complex and high-tech cinema. "
  6. Sure, just a handful of contractors ?. To be honest the exact amount of employees is pretty irrelavent, the fact they picked Reading speaks volumes.
  7. Yes Houdini, think you've hit the nail on the head, you clever bugger. I should have realised film studios tend to pick really run down, poor, no money areas...doh
  8. Don't worry about Pinewood that will look like a 2 bit studio compared to this giant. Looks like the government have been helping Blackhall pick a location. I wonder why the government/blackhall have decided to pick a dump of a town that has "no money" and is full of immigrants, very strange. "There has been a rush by commercial companies to build more studio space in recent years but this one is unusual in that the British government has been working with Blackhall Studios over the last year to help secure a site."
  9. Reading.....the UK's Hollywood Rodeo Oxford Road Drive oh and another 3000 jobs................. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-51545931
  10. I wonder who will replace them, exciting times......https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/business/berkshire-towns-named-top-business-16477755
  11. It doesn't matter what you or the other cranks think the facts speak for themselves, plenty of articles around stating this. hi5lo5, you have backed up my point with houseprice.io data that only goes up to mid Feb, I said that recently I have noticed lots of properties turning to SSTC or under offer, have a look at those houseprices.io figures in 6 months time. "The south east and London market peaked 2015/2016 so what you are saying flies in the face of reason...unless Reading is some kind of shangri la hot spot swimming against the current" Strange but It must be because I am just looking at a RG6 house on Zoopla and it looks like its dropped 0.5% over 3 years whereas if you do the same with parts of London and South East its nearer 10%. Very very strange, I wonder if its because London and the South East have micro property markets and I wonder if some parts of the South East are more attractive because they have plenty of work, excellent transport links, biggest digital hub outside London, Crossrail coming, excellent schools, I dunno Sherlock waddya reckon? "Reading....you can keep it ? " Thanks I will and plenty of others moving here will as well?
  12. Whats wrong with walking about town on a Saturday or Saturday night, I do it often, D-d-do y-y-you m-m-m-mean t-t-t-theres s-s-s-scarey b-b-brown p-p-people or-s-s-sscary b-b-beggers. Keep it up Spyguy only a few cranks agree with you now, its a long time since you ran away. Reading on the skids? Its funny after checking my areas of interest daily I am noticing lots of properties under offer or SSTC even the 600k - 1.2 ones seem to be flying off the shelves, its like 50% of properties listed sold, haven't seen that since 2015/16. Could be Spring and 3 years of coiled spring effect I suppose ,I dunno the market here just seems to have that whiff of 2012-2013 about it, no rush lets see.
  13. looks like that coiled spring is about to go pop, similar to 2012ish
  14. Surely not, how is this happening :o( https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/reading-named-the-best-place-for-first-time-buyers-in-the-uk-2019-89xtwqvlh
