  1. Thanks for these Phil. Very interesting to hear this sort of talk about ‘not London’. Do you monitor north Leeds at all? I know that’s not far of your patch and might have similarities.
  2. Enjoyed that. Basically you’ve got jilted ‘the prediction’ jen and marky ‘crypto consultant’ h, they’re the winners in life, and then you’ve got nearly everyone else on here who are total failures. Buy bitcoin now and you too could own a house ?
  3. No he hasn’t deleted it, he’s tweeted about twenty more saying house Karen Buck was a supporter until Shelter leaned on her to do a u-turn. This is the new approach that people are coughing up £100 quid for.
  4. So millionaires will push the price up to $200k+ because they’ll all want to own one bitcoin? Why do you think they’ll want to tie up their capital at that price? Why isn’t that happening now at these prices?
  5. Apparently you must be worried by the Landlords Alliance to have written that blog. You don’t strike me as being worried to be honest. I guess the thing to remember is that Busta is a moron. Others, whilst still fairly moronic, will read with interest. Some might even post, we’ll see.
  6. Next episode of this saga on Wednesday with the Halifax forecast +0.9%.
  7. And here’s a little background on John Allan, their ‘Policy Consultant’... http://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/446531-nw-businessman-john-allan-to-chair-fsb https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3546336/Influential-business-watchdog-boss-75-suspended-claims-helped-young-mother-work-prostitute.html
  8. The headquarters appears to be located here... https://goo.gl/maps/SsPtdxWUqjS2
  9. Arr yes, sorry. I tried to figure out what it could be so did a quick tot up to see if I was right it mistook the -0.3 for the supposed 0.3. Dunno then!
  10. I think it’s more of rolling three months, so you’d compare July, Aug, Sept with Aug, Sept, Oct. I definitely could be wrong though.
  11. Which Facebook page is that? Always happy to see local landlords get a panning.
  12. This is the kind of thing that a fees ban should hopefully create a market for. Landlords are bullish about the fact that rents will go up when fees are banned because the end user always pays blah blah. Yet they’ll quickly find that it’s their costs taking a hit until they start paying attention to all the scams and agent has in place. Competition where there is currently none.
  13. Can’t wait for the time when tenants facing a rent increase to pay for the EAs fleet of Minis start to realise that they can just move without paying any fees. F*cking arseholes.
  14. Shame the house is in Surbiton really because the obvious choice for any northern forced sellers would be to engage the services of this gentleman... https://scruffypropertywanted.com/?v=79cba1185463
  15. So far his main suggestions seem to be a five year council tax holiday for first time buyers. Not exactly clear why he thinks that’s either feasible or a good idea. Second is his ‘offer’ to meet the Shelter CEO if she gives up a years salary. This is on the back of some pledges on 188. No actual money. No website. No consultation with members because there aren’t any members. Just a barely legible Twitter account. Even that HMO berk from Nottingham is probably cringing at his comms.
  16. That Larry guy and his landlord alliance have brought a wealth of new comedy to the table. They’re all coming back out of the woodwork and he’s just an absolute clown. Really hope he can get it off the ground and bring his comedy to a wider audience, although it’s not very likely is it.
  17. Funny how they’re so fond of the free market when it’s comes to buying houses and renting them out but when they get in negative equity it’s ‘through no fault of their own’.
  18. Obviously you can’t believe a word of what he says... but here’s what he’s saying now... https://www.property118.com/stopped-letting-properties-fergus-wilson/ Like all employers in the South East I was heavily dependent on an East European workforce. On 1st October, 2018 at 7.30am a Hungarian workman did not turn up for work. He telephoned to say he was on the ferry heading for Calais as he had been offered a job the previous night in Germany. So he just up and went. Yesterday I lost two more Romanian workmen reducing the number to 6 full time workmen compared to 14 in October 2008. I have therefore taken the decision to stop letting properties in Ashford and Maidstone for the foreseeable future. Without East European staff I cannot operate! It is virtually impossible for a tenant to find a property to let in Maidstone. I have sold four houses in the past week and those tenants, all East European, have lost their homes. If you cannot maintain houses to the correct standard and deliver Heating Services promptly in winter then there is little option, but to cease to rent out properties. I have tenants who have been with me since 2005 and 2006 and am loathed to end their tenancies, but simply can no longer offer the service necessary. Whether this is to do with Brexit or not need not concern me. I have to deal with the present day situation. It just cannot go on. Fergus
  19. To be fair, having read all of the sales comments Carney really has got them rattled over Brexit. God bless his forward guidance ?
