  1. There is no such thing as a bedroom tax, it is is a reduction in the amount of benefit you can receive if you are getting benefits for a house that is bigger than your needs. Most countries don't even have housing allowance ,and now we,re paying the cost of New Labour's wreckless open door immigration policy that saw our population grow by 4 million in 13 years ,without thinking about the consequences
  2. don't forget the many thousands of DLA, I know a guy who gets a small pension and cant get the dole ,but he has to sign on for his stamp ,and now hes got to prove hes looking for work although he doesn't get any money from them.
  3. Nice one, sounds like a bargain, any change they'll give you ,your rent back..
  4. Bad time to buy, we had panic buying over here in N.I , 6 years ago, with people camping outside EAs all night . now they,re worth about a third, and a lot of people lives destroyed ,. Hope it doesn't happen over there ,again like the eighties all over again.
  5. Only thing going for it is 5beds and garden , whats that on the roof? a anti aircraft bunker , looks awful.
  6. Don't think it was that easy . Im sure it works for some, if you know what your doing ,or have good builder to sort out any problems as most them have . Worst car I ever bought was at a auction, and that was only 2k .
  7. I wouldn't buy at a auction , you need make sure you do your homework... I know someone who lost his deposit 10 k because he hadn't told the bank he had a car loan out , and he couldn't get the money together in 2 weeks.
  8. Am I the only one who thinks low house prices is a good thing , only EAs and the taxman profits from high prices, and some landlords if they sell.
  9. Let us know how you get along. good luck
  10. it could, I would brother money from elsewere ,a loan ,to fix the proplem if you cant get a mortgage. I know someone who had to get a kitchen in ,before theyre give him a mortgage
  11. sounds like one i bought once.. get a structural engineer to have a look , it might need underpinning ,,or just repointing and plastering inside. mine was cash and I saved 20k
  12. should zero hours not be the same as being self employed , as you don't get sick/holiday pay but you pay a much lower tax and you can claim for expenses . I know I did years ago.
  13. a disgrace , im sure the fat cats at the top and share holders wouldn't be losing out.
  14. itll be a very long time till its worth that
  15. I was talking to a guy yesterday who had to close his shop in Belfast after 30 years ,because of the rates and other things. soon they'll e nothing left but charity shops and Tesco on the high steet.
  16. no surprise , I think the rates ,is a licence for the powers that be up in Stormont to spend and waste however much they like , a bit like the EU but smaller. little consideration is given to working families getting it tight.
  17. First house I bought 17years ago was a repo, sold it on after 3 years ,no problems. . And the latest is a detached townhouse ,all ive had to do is put in a new gas boiler in and a bit of painting.,and cut the grass.
  18. £1400 rates seems excessive for a 94k house , if things carry on the way they are , the house will be worth less than the RV in a few time.
