  1. And the 2011 award for 'we don't really understand the internet thing' goes to Millers http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-19907661.html?utm_source=rmrssfeed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=buying Who always upload to rightmove before putting any info or pics on the site
  2. I live in Switzerland, for some export-oriented firms the strength of the Swiss Franc is devistating. Anyway the intervention is having a short-term effect at least, I doubt if it can last though.
  3. I left in 1986, was IT contractor, now self-employed bod - http://www.sdr-radio.com - and plan to retire to Conrwall next year. Best thing I ever did? Leaving UK in 1986.
  4. Here we go: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31370914.html?utm_content=ealertspropertyimage&utm_medium=email&utm_source=emailupdates&utm_campaign=emailupdatesjun11&utm_term=buying&sc_id=5797254 Ashamed of the house are we Sir?
  5. Classic property bubble prices, plenty of negotiable wiggle room on those prices IMO. The original purchasers will be crapping themselves in style
  6. Well I like this one: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16713870.html Don't know why it's not been sold.
  7. I wish to nominate the EA trying to sell http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-18334446.html?utm_source=rmrssfeed&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=buying - three photos for a house costing half a million quid, not one of the inside?
  8. I see many places I like in the west Cornwall market now having 10% to even 15% price reductions. As someone who'll be buying next year this is very good news. Roll on the mother & father of all crashes please
  9. At least your nag has four legs - those sold by BoA had hardly any...
  10. I sold a house on the IOM (aka the Rock) a month or two ago. The market is collapsing, the idiot politicians try to do everything they can to keep the market going but it's crash time. Pull out while there's time...
  11. I don't know about gold but measured in Swiss Francs I now get twice as many GBP for my Swiss Franc compared to mid-2007. Tack in the 'pleasant' and hopefully continuing fall in UK prices then those of us retiring to the UK will be 'Quids In'.
  12. I'll be a cash buyer and have seen quite a few places I like which are available now - maybe the residents died, went into a nursing home or whatever. As has been suggested it's for 2013 - I think I'll stay here in Switzerland until then. the Swiss Franc is stupidly strong...
  13. I'm not familiar with Property Snake but will take a look. I'm watching new property as it comes onto the market, mainly bungalows with a large garden as I have a hobby where I need space for antennas etc. In the price range I'm looking at I don't think it depends on the local economy, rather money coming into the county as people such as myself retire. It's obvious that some people are setting the prices themselves. It'll be an interesting year I think.
  14. Well that's what i did in mid 1986 and it's the best thing I ever did. Now it's time for one final move, I'll be retiring at 55 so still young enough and fancy a base in one of the better parts of the UK.
  15. What are the expectations for 2012 / 2013? I'm planning to retire to Cornwall in 2012 / 2013 and am 'happy' to watch prices in the 400k to 550k range drifting down.
