This country is maybe the most hit by earthquakes of all times. Huge portions of the ground going up and down with each earthquake is common knowledge. The truth is that they trusted the businessmen from companies who sold them the reactors. But today they understand they shouldn't have bought it the same way you buy an airplane or a washing machine. The difference between a 20 meters wall, and a 6.5 meters one? 3 hookers, 6 bottles of sake, and 2 sushi boats menus the night before the contract was signed.

Isn't that figure a bit low? Otherwise they should as well spend the money directly into useful infrastructures to stimulate the construction job market.

Or is it just a cynical reaction from them to the leaders / experts usual way to conveniently hide the truth when it could hurt their own interests.
