  1. think with events going on concerning the credit crunch we should be aware of the following. Following the problems in the sub-prime lending market in America and the run on Northern Rock in the UK, uncertainty has now hit Japan. In the last 7 days Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly up and Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some of its branches. Yesterday, it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song while today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived. While Samurai Bank are soldiering on following sharp cutbacks, Ninja Bank are reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black. Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal. There is also concern over the fate of Kimono Bank which, it is believed, has been hung out to dry, whilst Ming Bank fear this to be the end of a dynasty. However; and on a positive note Rickshaw Bank, say they have put wheels on motion to prevent the situation completely running away with them.
  2. Good Morning, You called ? The clue is in my name
  3. Someone ask for me? Dead Cat Bounce at your service and I will be for the next week.
  4. Must be time to change my name. This time there will be no dead cat bounce. All eyes on the FTSE tomorrow
  5. And just watch how Tesco's will squirm as compensation claims hit them for contaminated petrol sold at their garages I do like Monday's
  6. Silly question but here it is Yes overpriced stock markets are tumbling BUT where does that leave interest rates ? Any ideas out there ?
  7. Never mind the futures market prediction for interest rates, in my humble opinion the econonic future for Great Britain plc is decidedly dodgy and uncertain. I am only happy my family took the step to emigrate when they did and I reckon more will desert the U.K. If base rates hit 5.5% I fear the dole queues will reach worrying proportions. Come on over to sunny Australia folks.
  8. Please leave my name out of discussions dnd. So long as "Crash" Gordon is Chancellor the UK economy will be very suspect Those of a nervous disposition stay out of the markets
  9. Good point Chuz. This is spin at its most lethal to take the "peasants" minds off the real menace of bird flu and the stockpile of bodybags etc, also the civil war in Iraq. I repeat again the UK economy is shafted well and truly.....go and visit your local Jobcentre. The uber bulls would be advised to keep an eye on the FTSE and Dow Jones which are weakening now. Price rise in London Property my AR** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Might I suggest that the bulls take a stroll along any High Street in the UK and see how the retail sector has been shafted. After lay-offs and redundancies in the manufacturing sector the next to suffer will be retail. The only guys rubbing their hands with glee are the insolvency practitioners with individual bankruptcies and corporate liquidations setting new records month after month. Can a bull please explain to poor ignorant me how house prices can go on rising given the state of the UK economy WITHOUT any government backed spin.
  11. Good call Roman, the Dow is down over 50 points. At this rate i will soon be able to afford to settle my rent arrears, I am a committed bear both in the Dow and FTSE,and property prices should also head south. I have said before the UK economy is like an elevator with a lunatic at the controls. "Black hole, what black hole,Gordon Brown????????????"
  12. Is it possible for a seasoned poster such as Dr Bubb to translate this into simple English? I am somewhat concerned at the doom scenario being painted. By the way I have been living in various rented properties for the past 10 years. Will 2006 be the year I buy?? Any advice please.
  13. Looks very very sick at the moment. Those in the know are going short in a big way tomorrow. A huge correction is on the way. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I have been following this one for a while and shares are now trading at all time low,(just over 2p) Anyone out there got any opinions,I believe their music catalogues are valuable. Is it worth a punt???? or is liquidation looming????
  15. A deafening silence from the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Is all well? Methinks the UK economy is in bad shape and watch out for more stealth taxes just around the corner.
  16. Please leave my name out of this! In my humble opinion there will be a link with plunging stock markets, rising unemployment and inflation on the increase and property prices. Add to that scenario increases in taxes and a clown for a UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and house prices WILL go on falling. I am a bear and proud of it Keep your eyes on the exchange rate £/US$ I am.
  17. Am I right in thinking that there are 52 Monday's in a year? Another bottle of whisky please,Gordon I feel the shakes coming on.
  18. Good call Roman. The question is will the Dow drop below 10,370 before close of business today? This is what the bulls consider to be the support level. Once breached who knows! I am piling in short ,thanx for the bull traps Roman.
  19. Been released early. What a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's next to be locked up?
  20. Kindly leave my name out of this discussion ,failing which I shall leave on a free transfer to "The Singing Pig" site.
  21. If only Sylvia were a freemason, possibly would have escaped a custodial sentence. Good luck to her, she's gained my respect. Anyone know her prison number,I'd like to drop her a line. BY THE WAY HOW LONG BEFORE GAZUMPING BECOMES A CRIMINAL OFFENCE?
  22. I may be wrong but was it not Gordon Brown who said "We're all on the scratch now" Hold on tight and wait for the next round of stealth tax rises to pay for new labour's overspending. I agree with a previous poster who likened the UK economy to an elevator with a lunatic at the controls. HOLD ON TIGHT FOLKS!!!!!!!!
  23. "The Twerps" An everyday story of folk who purchased properties in 2004 and paid the asking -price.
  24. Does not the solution lie by bringing into the net of UK Tax the oft-maligned profession of prostitution. Were these ladies to pay income tax the "take" by means of taxation would rocket. My view is not that the benefit system is at fault,it is the tax evasion industry or "black economy" . It must add up to a few bob missing from the Chancellors coffers. Legalise and tax prostitution, you know it makes sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. We are seeing a slow insiduous drop in property prices which shows no signs of abating for many years. In my opinion this is the worst type of drop, rather than a sharp correction. A comparable is the fall in the FTSE and Dow Jones indices in London and New York respectively, over the past few days. I have seen no mention of the value that has been wiped off shares comprising the indices as indeed we see no value wiped off property prices. When oil hits $80 per barrel even the Blair Broadcasting Corporation will be hard pressed to put a spin on the crash.
