  1. I correct myself, i realize now you can see the tube and rail stations on rightmove maps, but not the lines. Sorry, a bit tired, the night was short.
  2. Good idea and useful map, but Rightmove should include the possibility to see the undeground network on their maps. Cycling to work can be a good solution in summer if you're not afraid to die young, but in the winter, you will be happy to have the tube not far from your home. That was the case for the flat in Elephant and Castle the OP showed, but it's already sold, and probably close than 300k, not 250k.

Yes thank you i realize that, but you just give the OP all the stuff around Liverpool Street, including slums ready to fall apart, that you can find on Rightmove, which i think the OP can do by himself if he's not mentally challenged. He needs ideas more precise than that, that's why i give him the Docklands, because i live there and enjoy it. Yes, Neverland, the Docklands are next some (soft) slums, but for 250k in London, can you expect to live next to the Queen or Roman Abramovich ?
  4. Who wants to live in this kind of slums ? For 250k, the OP can have a much more decent 2-bed in the Docklands for example. 15 mn from Bank by the DLR

  6. I use the word "fighting" as an image, not in the literal sense. In football, you fight for the victory, it don't mean you have to punch your opponent in the face.
  7. Very high suicide rates in Finland and Switzerland, like in France, where i come from. Depressing countries, where the government provide everything for people. You don't have to fight there, everything is given. It's not a good system IMO. Maybe have to fight to earn your possessions is much more rewarding.
  8. Everybody don't have the same definition of what is quality of life. I lived in both little cities and big cities and i can say from my experience that i'm ready to pay the double to have the chance to live in a big city.

It's true, many exciting projects in the area, if only 30% of them are completed, it will be enough to improve dramatically the place. i think you made a good bet To conclude, it's always the same story, prices in good areas will increase, prices in bad areas will decrease. There is no sense to speak about house prices on the scale of all UK or even on the scale of a city of the size of London. Areas are very different.
  10. So the prices risk to remain depressed for a long time, because you can not look somewhere in the area without to see construction cranes.
  11. To be more precise, i speak about Britannia Village, where the prices are around 220-250k for a 2bed flat. The ones you show are out of my range.
  12. Yes i can see this one, but the development is far to be finished, personnally i would never buy a flat before it's built, too risky.
  13. I don't have any idea on general figures about London, but i can give anecdotal about my own case. I was looking to buy a flat in Royal Docks (E16) and had several ones on my Rightmove wish list. I completed my purchase some days ago, but notice all the other flats from the list are now 'under offer" or "sold stc". Maybe this is the "Cable car effect", so it can be not relevant. Maybe some of the purchases will not be completed too. PS: sorry for my poor english, i'm foreigner.
  14. There is something i don't understand in this story. Why does the man is surprised to pay a high rent in a place like Greater Manchester? Sorry i'm not from the UK but isn't it an attractive big city? I had a friend who lived in Paris. But after 15 years, his rent had increased by more than 50% and he couldn't afford it anymore. So he had to go to live in a more little city. That make sense for me.
