  1. I agree. And trust that surveyor to take the SELLER's side, not the OP's. Sounds like a real slimeball and typical surveyor. ALSO: It's not Gazundering if you do it now. It's just revising your offer in light of the new information.
  2. Alan Johnson didn't bin them. He pushed and pushed and pushed. Like Blunkett before him. It was ONLY Labour losing the 2010 election that stopped it.
  3. Quite. There's no need for yet another early election. Brenda from Bristol would have another fit. The 2017 election was May being mad; the 2019 election was the only way to unblock the Brexit deadline (whether you agree with the reasons or not). No party in government WANTS to hold early elections. There's an 80-seat majority which isn't going anywhere. It will not be before 2024.
  4. Brilliant, and yes well done. Any crumbs of details you can share? If he paid all the tax he was supposed to pay, what could the problem possibly be? Why is being asked to pay the legal correct amount of tax allowed to be called "making my life untenable" - surely the only thing that's untenable was his underlying Business Plan?
  5. Looks like a cut-and-paste Samuel Leeds acoloyte YouTuber to me, complete with the paid sycophants (from a Chinese web-farm) lavishing the video with praise in the comments.
  6. FANTASTIC NEWS! He was expected to be parachuted in to chair a very powerful Select Committee, and they were going to fix the vote so that he was "elected" chair. Today, he failed. It is a GOOD DAY! https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2020/jul/15/uk-coronavirus-live-news-infection-rate-pmqs-boris-johnson-keir-starmer-covid-19-latest-updates?page=with:block-5f0f2ec18f0876acf515fec0#block-5f0f2ec18f0876acf515fec0
  7. I hope you called him on that lie to his face? The law says he MUST pass on ANY AND ALL OFFERS. No ifs or buts. It's really important they are taught that we won't tolerate their lies any more.
  8. Yes indeed. Still on the iPlayer IIRC (iPlayer keeps QT episodes for a full year).
  9. If you want cuts, do it the other way around. Then we'll see why it's needed.
  10. Haha, good find. Also, " I am banning you from further use of this website, forever." should be read in the same tone of voice as a medieval king crying "off with her head"!
  11. One can only imagine Yasmin's reaction now that Labour have elected the only white male candidate who was standing in the leadership election! LOL! Reminds me of the fantastic question that Andrew Neil asked Lisa Nandy in her long interview with him during the campaign. "The labour party has never had a female leader, and now it's got a choice of 4 women and 1 man! How sexist will your party be, if it chooses the one man?"
  12. Hmm, well I don't accept that particular framing of how we should measure the success of s24 as the sole measure. Define "dire"? If you mean "less profits for landlords", that's not dire. There's certainly no shortage of housing, and rents are going down, so those are two very positive indicators so far. The success of s24 could be measured in many different ways. But, remember that it was to close a loophole which should never have existed, so I reject any idea that if it's not "successful" it would ever be changed. How many extra homes are sold to OO which previously would have be
  13. You may be thinking of the lovely Vanessa Warwick of www.propertytribes.com, who didn't "think", she definitely WAS, a TV presenter, on MTV! Then: Now: In her new life as a property expert, she now runs PropertyTribes with her husband. She lamented the landlords loss of their FREE HANDOUT MONEY (the "Wear and Tear allowance"), when it was changed from being just handed out for free, to a fair system where landlords actually have to PROVE they have paid out to repair things with receipts. She said it was a pity they had all lost their "little Billy Bonus
  14. This is wrong. The maths which show why they are all screwed has been done to death on here for almost a full 5 years now. Please do a search.
  15. These are excellent graphs, I'm almost embarrassed to quibble, but but I'm having severe trouble reading them ;. If possible, please could you double (or maybe triple!) the font size used on the X and Y axis, and also in the legends? It's way too small. It needn't make the graphics physically bigger, just the font sizes used within the same area. Also they look like jpegs, if they were pngs the quality would be a lot higher. Thanks ps (I am already viewing the full size graphics which you get when you click on the previews in the post) pps the jpeg problem could be the forum's faul
  16. Yes, and of course with Section 24 in play, it's very pertinent. How interesting.
  17. Unfortunately, you have to pick one out of your "saving lives" vs "saving the economy" selection. The ukgov wasted two precious weeks trying to do both, and now hundreds if not thousands more will die as a consequence of their criminal inaction. You need to realise that we're going to have to "dismantle a total economy and generations future prospects" (but I wouldn't put it like that).
  18. Well, leaving aside the fact that you should not be leaving the house, it is you who should be ripping their financial hands/arms/torsos off
  19. Good for you! Great to read this.
  20. Sounds as if they were going to throw their toys out of the pram because they didn't want to pay their tax like the rest of us. I've seen the same thing happen in my place too - contractors (who are 100% pure "disguised employees" by the way, sitting with us permanently for 2, 3, 4, 5 years doing the exact same job for far more money) gnashing their teeth at the horrific idea of paying tax. Good riddance. Yet now, they get even more of a chance?
