Back in April the idea of us purchasing the flat we rented from her was brought up. When we came closer to the end of our tenancy agreement, the idea came up again. We offered her what was a very realistic price for the flat in its current condition (pretty appalling - needs reglazing, new kitchen, bathroom, damp problems sorting etc) which unsurprisingly was refused.   3. I graduated (Zoology) in 2004. Started working part time in the (charity) environment sector at about 15k pro rata (30 hours/week) while I did a postgrad diploma. Also worked a few shifts at the local pub to earn a few more pennies. After many interviews I failed to secure a full-time job in the environment sector and in desperation I ended up with an 18k job working as PA to a local multimillionaire property developer (!).   4. Agreed. About 6 months ago, one of the flats above me was let to a Polish man and his Slovakian wife. Neither of them speak more than rudimentary English and as far as we are aware, neither work (or at least not legally). She was pregnant, he was ankle-tagged(!). We've complained to our (and their) letting agent about them on numerous occasions, the most recent being his pissing at the top of the communal cellar stairs when he stands in the entranceway smoking and drinking (leaving cigarette butts and cans everywhere...).
