  1. Hi, I have just heard that Consa has been banned from the board, why is the site banning people. I know that if I post this as a new post it will not get passed, but it is very concerning. I am sorry to hijack the thread, but this is important no matter what one's personal opinion is of a person What good is a forum that bans people the minute they ask questions I fully expect to be banned now
  2. Consa, I agree, things are different. The stats of the front page are out of date, not all posts get posted. It didn't use to be like that. I think it is beginning to feel iffy to say the least
  3. Well I have been watching and waiting and used to really enjoy this forum, but have been quite disappointed lately. Even though the news items are up to date and extremely interesting, the stats are completely out of date. I am left with the feeling that this would maybe not be the case if there were falls. Funny but that stat thing alone really niggles me as it seems to represent a lack of balance. Also from what I have noticed there is a recent lack of ability for the forum to tolerate opposing views.   6. Thank you for your post, we are in nearly exactly the same position, bought for 240K in early 2003. Spent a happy two years there and sold recently for £249,950 (house was on for £260K) Lost a bit of money after fees, but as it is right up against the stamp duty limit we took 249K. We sold to move areas, rather than just to rent. I agree with you, there is something very different between renting and owning. Also I hope normality strikes soon but am becoming less convinced.   7. Yes, and how about looking in the phone directory for people with silly names and ringing them and laughing? Anyway here is a house, bought in June 2005 for £360 up £20K in under 3 months That did annoy me, no wonder volumes are down but apparently some prices are going up. There are also many stories of brown envelopes changing hands at local planning meetings with backhanders, that is a real shame I think, especially as generally the big developers have little interest in providing decently sized gardens and seem only interested in the greatest possible square footage on the least possible land
