  1. Can't shed any light, but "A whole load of people like me..." Says Kirstie "daughter of Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip and former chairman of Christie's" Allsopp. Oh yes love the country is crawling with people like you.... daft cow.
  2. Unfortunately you are liable for costs which, if they are wooden bannisters with rods, will be quite alot. Why didn't you just ask ? If the LL is a reasonable person I'm sure they would have just let you do it. In fact in the past I have provided materials for tenants to repaint, they choose the colour, it 's their home after all. 3. Which low interest mortgage is that then ? Unless you have a 25% deposit you'll be lucky to get less than 6%.
  4. It'll all be fine. Until it's not, and let's face it, there's nothing you can do, so you might as well be cheerful. Works for me.SignedG.Brown MP
  5. Point of order, I don't think La Krust is really capable of serious thought. (My wife would kill me for that, thank Christ she's a Yank and can't vote in his country)... My wife not Krusty. (e) for clarity.
  6. Was in Kingston at the w/e. Absolutely rammed, everyone carrying bags. From what I could see a good variety, John Lewis and M&S mainly.
  7. With their privacy laws they don't have to. Two words, Jewish Gold.
  8. "clogs to clogs in three generations"... for clogs insert camel/sand/goat etc
  9. To add to that Hartcliffe is one of the roughest parts of Bristol, or it was when I was growing up....
  10. There are far cheaper tickets available, you just have to plan ahead.
  11. I would stick with Rohypnol, chloroform can cause vomiting, it ruins the mood....
  12. May I quote a relatively famous feminist epithet: "What's mine is mine, what's yours is mine." Nuff said, my wife follows this school of thought, it doesn't bother me particularly because I think it's a very widely held belief.
  13. Keep on with the updates, they are what this site needs more of.
  14. You're welcome. I take all forms of currency.
  15. £195k Jeez. Why not go to Jolly cabins A lot cheaper
  16. Very little in London for less than £175 so no. Do agree with the main kicker being the doubling of SD at £250k.
  17. Agree !! Mrs 1080 is presently coming towards the end of her maternity leave, she is getting paid, errrr, precisely.... £0.00 per week. In order to afford this halving of our income we have had to put the mortgage on I/O (gasps of horror fron HPC) for a few months. This on a terraced house in London with me earning what is by any standards a good wage (top 5% according to govt stats), there is no way we could afford for her to stay at home, well we could but it would mean keeping the mortgage on I/O which is most defintiely not what I want to do. Besides, she will have to go back to work for at least 6 months full time or 12 months part time to 'pay back' her enhanced maternity package of 90% of full time wage for 6 weeks and another 6 weeks at 60%. My Mum was a housewife for at least the first 8 years of my life, my Dad was not a big earner. There is no way that could happen today unless 1. You have no mortgage or 2. You earn a minimum of £100k (In London) probably less outside.
  18. Listed on the Galliard website from £135k for a studio (I assume). I'm pretty sure they were more than that when they were offering off-plan. Deptford is still a hole though.
  19. To be honest SLC, I can't remember how much they were.... I think it was over £250k for a 1 bed. I was surprised about the lack of spin, which is why I posted it. I won't be buying any I'm afraid..... Deptford is a HOLE !! Mind you £150k hmmm, *picks up phone to his IFA*
