    Hi.

Can I please post comments to articles directly? Tried to add them on a few occasions, but they always seem to disappear. Also - I am not allowed to email you for some reason, hence this post.

    Regards

Please email webmaster[at]housepricecrash.co.uk with your blog username and we will look into it for you.

    Thanks!

  2. Can this 'new old' skin be set as the default for anyone coming here please.

As someone else posted, I'd forgotten how good the old one was until I saw it again, I mean for a start it uses the whole of the screen rather than have two pointless empty columns down each side.

Why can't invision just leave things alone.. in fact why was new software needed in the first place ???

We can make it the default once we have customised it with the logo etc.

  3. A beta version of the old style classic blue skin has been released so we have uploaded this to the site. Being a Beta version, it's not perfect but it should be a welcome change for those of you that didn't like the new default Invision skin. You can select this skin in the dropdown box in the bottom-left hand corner of the screen 'IP.Board Classic Blue (Import)'.

At the moment this is just the basic skin without any HPC customisation so there is no hpc header or top navigation etc.

  4. Seriously, your communication has been woeful and you don't seem to care.

When running 3rd party software we are very restricted as to what we can and can't change. Some issues have been addressed in the latest minor bug fix upgrade released by Invision which we have implemented but the major issue relating to the skin is something that we are still waiting to be released.

  5. I hate to say it, but I am getting the distinct feeling that TPTB are operating on a strategy of keeping quiet and hoping the user complaints will simply fade away.

I am angry about this, not becase they appear to be unable/unwilling to address the complaints. But, rather, that they appear to be unwillling to be up-front and say so.

On the other hand, if they are going to fix these issues, then they really should come on here and appraise us of progress in this regard.

We can't roll back to the the old forum, end of story.

We are waiting for the old style skin to be released, we are chasing this and as soon as it is we will install it

  6. We're still trying to get hold of the old style skin. The Invision community are reluctant to release it as it's still a bit buggy. However, there are loads of forums in the same situation as us so there is a lot of pressure for them to release it.

Hang in there folks, hopefully it won't be much longer!

  7. We use Invision Powerboard for our forum software and we try to keep up to date with the latest released version both for security reasons and functionality. We have always upgraded to the latest version, the only difference this time is that it is a bigger upgrade than usual moving from version 2.something to version 3 . The forums skin is just the default one for now. This isn't a design choice by us, it's just what comes with the package.

There is a new skin that has been developed by the Invision community (not us) which is designed to look very closely like the old forum skin although not exactly. It hasn't been released yet as a download but as soon as it is then we will add it to the site and you will then be able to choose to use that one or the current one by selecting in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. This is where the Lo-Fi skin can also be found for those of you wanting to use that one.

If you want to check out what the 'new style old skin' will look like then head over to http://community.invisionpower.com/ and then select "IP.Board Classic Blue" in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

  8. It seems you can download the old version 2 skin which will work with version 3 of this software here:

    http://community.inv...e-2x-templates/

    Can we try this?

Can someone reply to this? It is worth posting again as this could solve all the problems in one well swoop. We keep new functionality but get the old style back.

The new style is ill thought out with regards to usability.

Thanks for finding this, we'll have a look at implementing this as an additional skin choice.

We can change this over time, the main thing was to just get it in and working for now as this was a huge task in itself given the size of the website.

The issue with quoted posts is being steadily rectified in the background but is a process that will take some time to go through the database.

Keep your feedback coming and we will make some tweaks over the coming weeks.
