  1. Sound good, crash in the making.... When peoples home are repossessed, where are they sold, through estate agents or through auctions or specialsied companies.... is there scope for a good bargain... anything we should be careful of.... I appreciate that this sounds like one mans loss and anothers gains, but we FTB have been on the receiving end for a while so why not..... our turn is coming?!
  2. apollo 1996 thanks for asking... I stopped looking, I just cant part with my money -the value you get in return for your money is pathetic ... so I have left this My other half is not happy but I would rather wait one more year and pay less- it would be worth the £7000 rent that is seen as a sunk cost (hoping prices will fall) watch this space- thanking all that responded just wondering how long more to wait now......? and how much prices will fall over the next 1- 2years? 5. Hi can someone help me in my dilemma? I have a property that is currently being managed by letting agent, but due to poor customer service and lying about the amount of DIY that needs to be done on the property I wanted to terminate the contract. I contacted the letting agent, who kept promising to put the following terms in writing: I could have the property back through the following options: 1. Defaulting on contract at a cost of £500 2. Reduce letting fee to 10% 3. We find our own tenant I chased them for 8 weeks and nothing came in writing, I finally spoke to someone else at the letting agent and they agreed for me take the property and that I could keep the tenant as I would be signing the tenants partner rather than the actual tenant- hence I would not break the contract. Now I have learned that they think they are still managing the property. I rang the agent who threatened to take me to court if I did not oblige to the contract. However they agreed verbally I could take the tenant, now this person is now on jury service and will not be returning to work for a few weeks So that means I am stuck! Can you advice me what to do, I don’t wish to continue with them as they are dishonest, they have slammed the phone on me on a number of occasions and I chase them for everything! Their customer service is appauling. Why should I pay them 12% of my rent only to be treated like dirt, I am paying good money for my services. If I ask the tenant to terminate the Standing order with the letting agent next month, will my tenant have a black mark placed against her name legally? I don’t want to get her involved However she will be paying me not them in the future! Help I am confused what are my options?

  8. Hi I want to buy a home in Golborne, Warrington. I needed some advice and guidance from you wise folks out there!!!!!!! A: What is golborne like to live in ? Any pros or cons I should be aware of? Is this a rough part of Warrington? Are there any dodgy places nearby? B: My husband and I are currently renting in Warrington and are paying £550 towards our rent. Now if we carry on like this for the next two years ( ie waiting for crash or for the prices to go down reasonabley ) then we face a sunk cost of about £14k) So my husband is insisting we buy! the house will make money in the long run?! I m of the view to wait but if the prices do go down then great but we still loose 14k in the wait so we might as well add it my investment. Any advice any thoughts on both my questions above? Thanks Smoker!
