  1. Hell it's been a long time since I've posted on here......got a bit bored with it all. Then I came accross this: 20 Apr 2004 91 Crown Heights, £211,995 31 Mar 2008 91 Crown Heights, £145,000 That's a staggering £66,995 off original price.....an eyewatering 31.6% Warms the cockles of m' heart. If they drop another 30% might consider getting myself a little crash pad.
  2. It's so tempting to get involved in pay back in these circumstances. I don't think it's just the fact of losing money.....it's the awful indignant feeling of realising you've been "had over". The only way to ensure you don't get stung is to check/log everything, annotate inventory, take photos, keep all communications, be careful what you write/sign, read-up on your rights and obligations. I once got "done over" by a LA/LL....every tenancy since I have had FULL deposit refund.
  3. If it makes you feel better, sure, claim it as a success for your free advisory service.....however truth is I came across the thread after the event. I'll pass on your "advice" to now try and sue the LA/LL however.
  4. I really think your trailer straplines need to be changed to "Taking my advice is likely to cost you dear" Seems to me you liberaly give out advice without the slightest inclination of what you are talking about or the repurcussions of it. Today I got a full deposit return when the LL/Agent tried to make a claim on my deposit and I found out that they had failed to lodge it with TDS. I am glad for the full return, I wouldn't be dumb enough to try and now pursue a "compo" claim through the courts.
  5. Trouble with the Wilsons is that they are not always 100% upfront with the truth and are full of bluster. There's a lot of ego behind their motivations and not all of it is based on sound business sense. For quite some time they have set themselves a goal of "1000 properties" and the title "BTL Billionaires"...I think those goals will be the ruination of them. On that radio link Fergus said he had 875 properties, that's around £200M exposure and I'd guesstimate that in reality (brushing off the bluster) he's leveraged at around 80% possibly more. That'll give them around £40M equity and the
  6. Tragedy! Just as landlords find a way to make rental yields stack up on Crown Heights and Victory Hill properties, though renting their boxes out on a per hour basis, the police step in and put a stop to it. http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/mostpo...n_crackdown.php
  7. We sub-scontract a large number of Indians (onshore and offshore) in our UK office from Indian outsourcing companies. We have been doing this for a number of years now (5 years). Their employers are responsible for securing their work permits/visas etc. Over the last 2 years a common trend has started where the employees leave their Indian companies and then work directly for UK ones. We have actualy directly employed some of the sub-contractors. Many now have residency and are eligible to become UK citizens. These (now UK citizens) are very hard working, capable and are net contributors of
  8. When you check out their website it gives 10 reasons to buy from them: http://www.mrioverseasproperty.com/ Reason 6: 44%of our business is from referrals. Yet looking on the web the following seems to contradict this: http://www.spanishpropertyinsight.com/foru...opic.php?t=2602 http://www.askaboutmoney.com/showthread.php?t=55216 Ahhhh maybe the people refering are hoping to cut their losses through your "referral reward programme" http://www.lifetimeaftersales.com/referral-program.aspx
  9. Stories of woe including loss of life savings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMWpnjzIcWo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtlZZTRKGDc...ated&search And they all seem such a nice friendly bunch when on TV: http://www.overseaspropertytv.com/aboutus.aspx
  10. I'm surprised the thread still exists.....MRI have one of the most powerful legal teams i've ever seen and just about get every thread referring to them gets pulled off the internet. I posted about this programme on another forum: http://www.spanishpropertyinsight.com/foru...1d92684fccb8298 The moderator was forced to pull it despite it not even mentioning the companies name: But if you do want to know about how bad MRI is there's still a few threads around: http://community.channel4.com/eve/forums/a...47/m/1990026008 http://community.channel4.com/eve/forums/a...47/m/5940076196
  11. The programme can be seen on here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/insideout/east/ and click on "watch latest edition in full" Sob stories of losing all money on Spanish/Bulgarian property to the ex-timeshare salesmen of MRI. MRI is the overseas property "family business" that runs OPTV on SKY: http://www.mrioverseasproperty.com/ They are so sharp they make "Inside Track" salesmen look like charity workers.
  12. I hear there was a programme on "BBC1 East" InsideOut tonight featuring MRI. Did anyone see it? http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/listings/index...7&DAY=today http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/7001445.stm I didn't catch it myself, hoping to catch on Youtube if someone posts it. Please share if you have it recorded
  13. Okay I admit it......I don't normally condone Trolling but, "EstateAgent" is my satirical representation of two members of my wider family who happen to be real Estate agents. All the bites against my spoof are real though!
  14. Latest check on LR: 71 Crown Heights, 25 Jun 2004, £235,000 71 Crown Heights, 30 May 2007 £166,000 That's a 29% drop!
