  1. Hi Pete, Ignore the VI t**sers. You only made one mistake first offer should have been -20%. Anything more and you end up haggling over 1 or 2 %, because one of the parties thinks they will lose face if they accept.
  2. Apologies if all ready posted, but it's got to be worth it again just for this paragraph: House prices in England and Wales are now 1.9% lower than they were a year ago and 11.1% below the price peak in February 2008, and Chesterton Humberts calculate that since then, £21,698 has been wiped from the typical house value. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/mortgages-and-homes/house-prices/article.html?in_article_id=530955&in_page_id=57
  3. I did notice that a post I'd made (Title) on the Main Forum had been edited, not by me. Nothing to change the context or anything, but it happened just the same. No email or anything to say this had happened or why. Not overly concerned this time, but would like to now 'MODs' when you consider this worthy of informing the OP and when not! Bit disturbing as I had hoped HPC was pretty up front........gullible I know
  4. Indeed, Strange how it comes to light at the end of the financial year Still, apparently property losses haven't been factored in so far, the games only just begun, lets just see how much c**k the sheeple can take. When does justice kick in
  5. Enjoyed Peston's piece on 5 news: "How could so many Banks be so incompetent" eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerm............Bonus culture perhaps............NOT FERCKING ROCKET SCIENCE!
  6. It's gonna kick off there soon http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-12912358 "That leaves some 40bn euros of debts that could potentially be given a "haircut", forcing creditors - including UK, US and German banks - to take losses." Oh-goody
  7. Having worked in Gib for a while and knowing how militant the union movement is over there (think 70's UK) this doesn't surprise me. http://www.chronicle.gi/headlines_details.php?id=21388 The point is many of these 'Civil Servants' work for the MOD and go to great lengths to explain their parity with UK civil servants, when it suits them. Obviously this is not one of those times, even though they are paid out of UK taxes. Any UK civil servants here pissed off at this? I am as a private sector tax payer
  8. Shhhhhhhhhhh Secret Squirrel...........................or should that be Bunny
  9. Good Call Winkie! Stop SMI buy loads of http://www.sambeckcaravans.co.uk/usedcaravans/results.php?submit=Search&cat%5B0%5D=23 The repossed can live here, cheaper for everyone. You could probably fit 50+ on to the average village green. I'm NOT joking.
  10. It's like watching the Uk economy: Everything's fine (BANG) nothing to worry about (BANG) If everyone remains calm, it'll all be rosey (BANG) ...... Oh shit we're ******ed!
  11. Interesting Sig: 1. Global Housing Market Bubble Bursts Note: struck out. Is the UK not on your globe?
  12. Gun crime is not much of an issue, certainly no more than the UK, Spanish gun laws are tougher than ours. Main issue, around the costa's in particular is burgulary, especially holiday villa's, which are often targeted. Brit owned villa's, even when the owners reside there, seem to be a favourite too, many owners I met had been hit two or three times. Perhaps they think they are stuffed full of quality goods, but must be disappointing when they find out they belong to blinged up chav's
  13. I lived in spain for a few years, it is NOT like most areas of the UK. Yeh, parts are superficially like the UK because that was the best way to attract and fleece Uk holiday makers. Honestly if you want to emigrate there, go and rent for at least 6 months and get to understand the issues, there are lots. Not least crime which is growing more rampant as unemployment rises. At least one reason why I'm glad to be back in the UK and would certainly not choose Spain as a permanent move.
  14. Ay steady trend upwards in my 1 mile radius (small dorset town) 280 before xmas now up to 329. Hopefully bursting through 330 by the weekend. Most definetly not down.
  15. At least it made the news, eventually the populance of this sad little island will wake up............maybe not
  16. Some nice Saturday bear food in the toilet Papers http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/city-news/2011/03/05/halifax-says-house-prices-falling-again-115875-22966999/ Sun - Home and Car Sales Down in the Slumps http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/motors/3448556/Home-and-car-sales-down-in-the-slumps.html Inde - House prices in further slide http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/house-prices-in-further-slide-2232995.html Keep up the good work!
  17. Next you'll be wanting proper legislation to protect renter scum!
  18. Decipher request. SOH... Top result 'Sydney Opera House' Like to see you transplant that MF
  19. This shit has been going on for years! You raise the issue and get told to 'wind your neck in' and use the proper supply channels. Apparently because of the massive bulk buying opportunities for the MOD, they get the best deals. All complete ******** of course 95% of stuff could be brought cheaper locally, probably much cheaper if you could negotiate with local traders. But of course thats not allowed, you must let the highly paid commercial civil servants wield their magic  Made me fume then and still does, complete ********, useless to a man!
  20. And so? Ah The lovable Irish....................Right Total contempt from here I'm afraid, much the same as the southern irish show for the English. Tuff S**t, you chose, live with it.
  21. Mate of mine works in Gib but his company pays for him to rent a place in Alcadesa, because it's a lot cheaper. He lives in a block of 6 very nice flats, fantastic views, communal pool etc etc On the opposite site of the valley there are row upon row of half finished new builds, tower cranes in place, been like that for over 18 months, spoils the view some what. Only two flats are occupied in his block, and the blocks either side are completely empty.
  22. What he wants is hoards marching up and down outside parliament demanding the death sentence for bankers. Then he can say "Look chap's your gonna have to reign it in a bit, your upsetting the proles. Not my decision, of course!" FFS Merv, just grow a F*****g pair you pathetic creep!
