  1. Apologies if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find a thread. I heard about the change that the government are planning to pay tenants the rent money instead of it going straight to the landlord. Not sure why they would do this, so hopefully someone on here can enlighten me. Personally, I can see the SHTF if this happens, and it's also suggested on the BBC that evictions could soar as tenants spend the money on other essentials rather than pay the scumlord any money.
  2. Cooked chicken at Morrisons was £5.25 yesterday. They were £4.40 a week ago. Usually only see one or two on display. There were about a dozen being kept warm when I looked. I went home and had chicken soup instead.
  3. Not sure if this has been posted before, but just heard about this on the local news and found a link on the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-19555537 So, a council gives £10 million of tax payers money to a bank, who then give it back to the tax payer, so they can get a mortgage! Am I missing something here?
  4. Hi all, I thought I would ask the experts their opinion on interest rates. What is likely to happen in the coming months based on current and past trends? I know it's probably like asking when will I win the lottery, but I thought some of you guys would have an inkling as to what will happen. Will interest rates remain at .5% for the next 3 - 6 months. Will the banks keep their interest rates a few % higher than the BOE rate? I am asking as I am in two minds at the moment as to what to do about my fixed mortgage. It's a 2 year fixed at 6.1% and is not due to come to full term until next June. So I have been scouring the net for better deals now, and I think I could save on average £60 - £70 a month if I switch. However, the high redemption charge of a £1000 is making me a bit reluctant to move now. I resent having to give banks more money, but on the other hand, are there going to be good deals next year? Or are rates going to slowly rise so by the time June comes around, I will be worse off? Interested to hear your comments and hopefully a little advise.... Thanks
  5. What I find amazing is at the end of the story it says that the UK will be supplying so many millions in aid to Pakistan and the same to Afganistan! I know this is slightly off topic but WHY? Im sure the clown wont stop the aid going to the country and the Pakistan President wont send the money back..... Anyway signed the petition. I want that twerp gone before we have to ask other countries for aid....
