  1. I saw that IMHAL. Between the three journalists at the end of the programme, they managed to hit the nail on the head. Even Iain Dale, an ardent supporter of Brexit agreed the summary. For those that want the most accurate and succinct summary of the last two year's travesty - it's worth a watch.
  2. HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA !!! How, where, what, when ???? Looking at the current lot the likelihood of that happening is about 1,000,000 to 1. We'll be so fecking desperate we'll get gang raped in any trade deals. Don't leavers understand business? You have to have strength in negotiations. Something that people want. The only things we have now are the shirts on our backs.
  3. So in your world of Ayn Rand ... You seem to think unilateral dropping of import tariffs is a good thing? So we can all buy the snazzy trainers Rees-Mogg has promised. And yet attack the consumption of shiny things. Perhaps, like most in the land of Brexit unicorns and rainbows, you have forgotten that it's EXPORTS that makes a country wealthier - not spending more money on Chinese tat. Regulations are needed. Otherwise greedy bastards abuse the system - as have been proved by the banking thefts and many more corporate thievings. Or maybe in your weird land - people should regulate themselves. Well that's worked well in history - not!! You will probably blame the government for the fact that billionaires just want more billions at any cost. Do you believe in tooth fairies and trickle-down? The lowest interest rates in thousands of years has meant the greedy bastards have increased their assets worth 10 fold since the 1970s. But we don't want them to put anything back into society do we? Let them live in bunkers with a 3 year supply of caviare. Weird stuff. You should write science fiction for young teenagers like your mate Ayn (who died alone and in poverty): "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." Libertarians have something missing. Perhaps you are one of the 1%?
  4. No I had to post three times, just to make sure you got my point, which you often miss ?
  5. What a walking contradiction you are. In one post you want free import tariffs, in another you say consumerism is the problem we need to cure.

  7. This is what's so good about a hard Brexit - 50% of the country hating the other 50% for a century. Oh yes, plus impoverishment. Plus splendid isolation. Oh, don't forget privatisation and asset stripping on steroids. But at least we can sell cricket balls to Tonga. Or can we? Better to package up our delusions and sell them to Delhi. Never mind - we had an empire once don't ya know? The sun never set on the British empire - except (accept) it doesn't now.
  8. Yeah so would I. "To some Harley-Davidson fans in Prague, there might be one core advantage to all the drama: their favorite U.S. brand could finally feel a bit more European. The reality, however, is that their motorcycles will now be produced in India, Brazil or Thailand. 9. Hard Brexit please. I want to see leavers paid in 10 shilling notes from 1930. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/jul/08/hard-brexit-could-see-dutch-electronics-firm-philips-quit-uk Hope all the Farage Fans have wheel-barrows full of cash to buy a loaf:
  10. Yeah Pig. For those that say money is not important (despite it paying for our essential services) - there are other things we are going to lose: https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/jul/08/uk-scientific-investments-threatened-by-brexit-galileo-copernicus-euratom
  11. Ha, ha, ha, ha - good one - very funny. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jul/08/revealed-leaveeu-campaign-met-russian-officials-as-many-as-11-times https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jul/08/electoral-law-broken-fight-for-soul-of-democracy
  12. OK. Ironic we have had 10 years of austerity which has made the country so much better. Education cuts. Healthcare cuts. Static incomes. House prices. No tax being paid by mega corporates. Tax evasion by elites. Police cuts. Legal aid cut. Councils broke. Roads falling to pieces. Green energy initiatives being cancelled. Selling of assets to foreigners. Foreign owned energy companies. Chinese nuclear power stations. The water company chiefs on millions while its infrastructure crumbles. The bankers hollowing out society. etc etc. Sure RQ, money doesn't matter. Jesus wept.
  13. What did you think of first when I posed my time machine question a few posts ago RQ? I have invented a time machine that goes forward and backwards, it's made with some old radio valves I found on a rubbish tip - should we use it? What would your first thought be?
  14. Have you not been reading my posts? I am angry at THE TORIES - the instigators of this sorry story. The same people that hold 90% of the blame for where we are now. I am angry at leavers for believing the hype as they can't answer the question of what tangible benefits Brexit brings. Can you? If not - what's the fracking point. So I know where the blame lies. If that makes me aloof, then maybe 'aloof' people who see the Tories are lying for their own gain are more able to make the right decision?
  15. Here you have two posts which contradicts each other. It proves my point. How are we going to change the system HERE? Brexit is going to do NOTHING to help it - just allow the greedy maggots feed on our flesh with greater ferocity.
  16. Much as I love the grouping and cooperation ideal behind the EU - I have always said it needs reform. Particularly for its own survival. My main complaint is how the cants that have landed this country in the sh*t have got away with manipulating the blame for our decline on the EU. People fell for it. My real frustration is with the lie that it's the EU which is the problem, the Mordor of all our ills, as slithered in by the Tories and their media baron friends. It's a classic deflection technique for the deficit of vision and good governance. The Tories run on pure self-interest. Those that believe the b*llo*cks they utter need the same debriefing that Scientologist runaways go through.
  17. How can it be democracy when the vote was based on Puff the Magic Dragon? 0) There are a thousand Brexit permutations and millions of consequences. 1) Brexit was 'allowed' to cure the Tories infighting. Therefore it's nothing to do with Will and his people. The Tories can only see themselves when they look out across this great country. 2) The leave vote made things up which are since proved to be lies. If they had simply asked if people wanted to be poorer, then the result would not have been the same. 3) A hard Brexit means our trade is going to be hit badly, very badly. JRM and Co are going to clean up. 4) The Brexiteer ultras have no plan for after Brexit - they just want Brexit. Criminal negligence. 5) The motives of the ultra Brexiteers are not the same as those of the people. What fracking democracy??? If I asked you and a group of random people this: I have invented a time machine that goes forward and backwards, it's made with some old radio valves I found on a rubbish tip - should we use it? What would your first thought be?
  18. I don't care how you voted. You are arguing for Brexit. Lemmings are known for jumping off cliffs, it's a human instinct to try and save them
  19. ^ this is a great article Dave B. If I was an alien (which my mrs thinks I am) - I would find it fascinating how people can toy with and play the emotional card. The article mentions the media as being majorly culpable. They are. In an age where anger sells news it's very dangerous IMO. The trouble is it sets up a perpetual motion machine which needs more and more fuel. They are playing with fire as there is always an end to whipping up anger as a tactic - and it always means physical conflict - worse, innocents dying. They will have blood on their hands.
  20. Interesting reply, thank you DM. On Google - the last time we had a tech entrepreneurial boost and ethos was in the Victorian age and the industrial revolution. Sine then we have lawyers, bankers, accountants and estate agents. This has to change if we are going to get out of the mire. Cyber security is a good one as is bleeding edge green stuff - as mentioned by Highyield . The issue comes back to Westminster. They are not fit for purpose. People running a country have to feel its blood running through their veins. The only thing running through the veins of the current lot is Viagra.
  21. I've said it before. Sure, a hard Brexit would hit property hard. But, that will only be useful to those who don't have to borrow to purchase as inevitably there would be a huge credit squeeze. Banks would close their doors to risk. If property was in a nose dive, then it would be high risk. The probable scenario would be foreign money coming in to buy up property. Part of the JRM and Legatum asset stripping plan.
