  1. NIMBY councillors & their friends with vested interests in not having their views spoilt or their house prices deflated by new builds, being the same people who decide on planning permission.
  2. The woman working 16 hours (for tax credits reasons, which you pay for) should be the single biggest incentive to pack up work. How in the world is it fair?
  3. Floored by the economic situation. Nobody wants to pay their kind of prices for a bit of carpet. Right?
  4. My heart bleeds these people who have been kept in these homes at the expense of savers and the mortgageless are now unable to sell them. What a crying shame.
  5. Got a load of these up my end. The NIMBYistic, boomer, vitriol I received when I posted against their proposal on their forum was a sight to behold!
  6. Mods please file under delusion sub-forum, then delete.
  7. Have to agree with this but... no life really is it? Welcome to the real London 2012.
  8. Seconded. Always worth looking at this kind of thing before even thinking about buying anywhere lowlaying.
  9. Good post Ska_Ma. Anyway you can get this Twittered to a wider audience?
  10. Those annoying, constant Flash updates are worth not ignoring. They do come through these exploits and actifvex exploits through Web pages.
  11. You just know all the insurance is going to be backstopped by the taxpayer. This is a pointless thread. We are all going to pay other people's insurance now. Taxpayer backstops is the new black.
  12. Just to add the icing on the cake: You paid for it via your licence fee. Sleep tight.
  13. Yea it's a bit misleading to say "losing their business to the net" as if that's the only reason. The rents and rates are stupidly high (unless you're a charity shop where you get 80% reduction on your rates amongst other perks, which leads evidence to it not just being the Internet as we all know how many charity shops there are).
  14. Read (as in bed) the whole article and it seemed more like a Republican bashing piece then anything else. What's America got going for it: Shale Housing Market has bottomed and is slowly rising whether you like it or not Continual double digit inflation in places like India making those countries less attractive for companies to employ labour. Outsourcing is so 2000's. Political stability compared to some developing nations. $ is still the reserve currency so they can print away a lot of their debt whether you like it or not
  15. Good post. Worth branding onto the side of my brain.
  16. Who are the rest of the JJB Wideboys who bought the company to destruction? That share price fall since 2008 is shocking.
  17. Got reduced by 50k in March but still a ridiculous price. I wouldn't give you a fiver for that.
  18. Yea on another thread (can't remember which one, been multiple threads on the same issue) someone was saying roads are empty on the way to work but nobody was agreeing with him and neither would I. Roads, if anything since schools have reopened are even busier rush hour. It's what's happening outside rush hour at the weekends etc. that's remarkable. As you point out Ghost Towns and Lonesome Highway's abound. Quite eerie. edit: not sure how much Internet shopping is taking up the slack (are Saturday deliveries sans food still not implemented?) but whatever, another death knell to the high street despite what that shop Queen does.
  19. How difficult (or easy) is it to sell these low volume AIM listed stocks like Ironveld? If I wanted to cash in now, could I put in a sell order and ten minutes later sail off into the sunset or would I be waiting longer than a house-seller in Swansea?
  20. Agree with these points. It would be if... you were the only person in the world with it. But you're not. There's a billion Indians for example now hooked into the matrix with all the up-to-date info that you have and hold so dear (cancelling out any competitive advantage you or companies may have gained) including access to UK Jobs Websites and Skype enabled Job Interviews. I've said it before, the Internet was great back in the 90's, when hardly anyone else was on it and it gave you a true edge. Now you need to be on it, not for an edge but just to tread water.
