  1. I had the same problem as I was going to fund the certificate with funds from my NS&I ISA. I couldn't remember the password, so couldn't go ahead with the plan. However you can secure your certificate with £100 debit card payment as I did, then add further funds at a later date
  2. nice choice, very nice choice, in fact i've been watching useed 335d prices with interest, but will probably go for a 330d manual and remap it.
  3. Neither It concentrated on the effect of pricing out the young locals
  4. The growth in second home ownership
  5. There's a documentary about banks on BBC2 this evening at 9pm http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00xwsl5/Britains_Banks_Too_Big_to_Save/
  6. Express So what about house prices soaring, then muppets
  7. Simple answer - it was the single thing that was underpinning Browns 'miracle economy'.
  8. No, they get stopped because the car registration flags up there is no insurance on the vehicle.
  9. Well if house prices are to soar then surely the following conditions must be met The rate of unemployment needs to reverse Mortgage availability needs to increase with in excess of 100% mortgages People need pay rises to keep up with inflation The demand for property needs to outstrip supply I don't see any of these conditions being met at the moment or in the near future, so it will not happen.
  10. Do our lives suddenly open up and flourish once we've bought into the property market?
  11. Just checked the diana express and they're reporting on it too, but strangely enough: 1) it hasn't made the front page 2) you can't comment on the story
  12. They're only trying to generate some good feeling amongst home debtors on a gloomy bank holiday Monday with the hope they'll sell loads more copies of their rag. It's only a fairytale
  13. Absolutely spot on! My job is governed by numbers and targets and it drives me f****g insane. Thinking objectively is a thing of the past.
  14. I can wait. I'm not ready to commit to buying in any case, the economy and employment is far too fragile to be taking on a large debt
  15. I wonder if this will make into the front page of the daily depress hailing soaring prices as good news for hard working companies No, thought not.
  16. I wonder what the legalities are for a person or organisation to proclaim they are the 'greatest'? Is greatness measured in readership or is it just subjective twaddle? Could you buy a copy and then sue the rag for misrepresentation under the sale of goods act?
  17. Why has it taken the majority of the UK population so long to realise the damage that labour has done, particularly gordon brown? Why has is it that now their ‘free house money’ has been taken away along with their job, that they have finally realised what we knew all along - that the banks and the government had orchestrated a ‘new economy’ based on debt that could never be sustained indefinitely?
  18. I can't see it making much difference in the current climate. Unless you have a 110% secure job, you'd be crazy to take on any substantial debt at these times. Now if the government brought in a deferred mortgage for the unemployed, that would be scary.
