    can someone remind me why bailouts can't be pushed into the future for perpetuity?

    cos' right now it's seeming like i'm right, a system that has no end to the added 0's doesn't care if it ever gets paid.

    none of the PIGS.. is ever going to pay back...it's, never, never land..markets go up some people make money,as they do when the same markets go down.

    third world debt has never been paid back nor will it BE...usa is never going to pay back...the PIGS are never going to pay back..the only people to pay back are the little people.

  2. After travelling through HK->Gullin->Yangsho->Kunming->Liejang->Zongdian->Lhasa in 2008, the thing that consistently caught our attention was the publics mistrust of their currency.

    Most hotel/cafe/tour operators won't accept large notes, hold the note to the light to check authenticity etc etc

    When even the taxi drivers don't like the paper, time to stay away ph34r.gif

    the largest note is only 100 rmb...here in china everybodys accepts it. yes people check the notes to make sure your not giving a fake note.thats the case in europe too.

    Better luck next time I'm sure, 50% is usually the average suces rate for us mere mortals :)

    I was told march 2009 1=1 euro against the pound back in 2007, so kept my money in euro's have changed 50% of my money in jan 2009 into £'s. will hold on to my otheir 50% in euro's.I have made a few bet's on the euro against the pound in the last 6 months made very good money.

    if i had changed my money back in 2007 like i was thinking of doing,it was around 1.5 euro's =£1 at the time.I would have lost a great deal of money.

    I hold my hands up yes i was wrong....but i am a very happy man with the out come.

    as to otheir peoples anger towards me,it's just a part of life.

    I have all i need, have not really worked for over 26 years collecting rent is not work,bought property in brussels for peanuts sold it at good price.i have my freeholds in london.all the lease holders leases are under 75 years now.i have been very lucky in my life.

    i wish everyone on HPC all the best.even to all the people who hate me.

    they will hate me even more as i have bought property in london to rent out..btl landlord is the most hated person on HPC,well so what !!!

    the world is not about to end,doom & gloom is here now it will be gone in a year or two..even if it takes 5 years so what if you have money & property,or a job. I feel sorry for all those who have no job no hope.I hope the frustrated people on hpc find what their looking for..hate is not the ans for them the sooner they find that out the better off they will be.

    I hope people on hpc carry on it's a great forum, good luck to everyone on it...

    Organised mortgage fraud ranks as one of the most

    serious fraud types that has faced the UK in recent years.

    There are 11.74 million mortgages in the UK, with loans worth over

    £1.2 trillion1. In recent years, the mortgage lending process

    became a significant target for serious criminals, both as a means

    to acquire property and as a means to steal funds.

    Opinions differ as to the full scale of mortgage fraud losses, but

    these are estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of pounds.

    Although the impact of ‘fraud for property’ – where salaries are

    inflated to get the properties people want – should not be

    discounted, it is certain that ‘fraud for profit’ – where mortgage

    funds are lent and then stolen – has been a more significant and

    organised threat.

    The harms associated with mortgage fraud go beyond the

    severe financial losses involved:

    • Where organised criminal gangs have committed large scale

    frauds, targeted in particular at new-build developments,

    innocent homeowners in neighbouring accommodation have

    found their properties worth considerably less than the inflated

    prices at which they bought. This is only exacerbated in an

    environment where house prices are falling.

    • In some cases, levels of mortgage fraud can result in company


    • Intelligence suggests that mortgage fraud has provided a

    significant revenue stream to serious criminal networks and

    has helped to cross subsidise other illicit activity.

    Mortgage fraud has by no means been restricted to the UK. In

    the United States the seriousness of mortgage fraud has been

    recognised as a pervasive and growing threat. The mortgage

    community, in particular law enforcement, are working jointly

    with the FBI to ensure that lessons are learnt and best practice

    is shared."


    so many more cases like this will come to court soon...

  6. what's wrong with giving poor people more money to live on ?

    I doubt very much that life on the dole is something people look forward to as they lose their jobs,income support or dole will not make you rich !!!

    the bankers got bn's go after them...no one on the dole will get that sort of money..

    or why don't we stop all dole payments would you like to do that ?

    get real dole is the only thing that poor people have to live on !!!

  7. Not as big a 'cn ut' as someone who gets paid three months housing alowance and knowingly diverts it to his own personal spending. It might not actually be legal theft, but IMO it's not far from it. I've had the odd tenant who's done this (quite rare. thank God), and they are usually fairly unpleasant people with a rather dubious set of moral values.

    What's wrong with their official record truthfuly displaying their dodginess for future potential landlords / lenders to be alerted ?


    theft by tenant or landlord is wrong. as for all landlords being scum as some claim on this site, this must be some sick joke, just look at the scum who want people to cheat on the housing alowance.

    I doubt any landlord would want any tenant to cheat the government out of money meant for housing.

    all cheats are scum !!!

    If you're so sure that Sterling Euro will be parity, why did you take out insurance aginst the pound strengthening the last time the rate was around 1.08?

    To answer the title of your thread, I think you're full of 5h1t.

    oh dear, oh dear,,the reason at the time i had to take out insurance was to cover some bet's for jan&feb i had made..i have no insurance for this month :lol:;):P doing very well so far and it's going to get better !!! ;)

    I don't need to work now do you ?

  9. As far as I am aware the US didn't make the Dollar the World's reserve currency.

    The World made the Dollar it's reserve currency.

    And if anyone thinks that the World will make the currency of a Communist country its reserve currency

    Then they're living in Cloud Cuckoo Land IMHO.

    And anyone fancy swapping all their Dollars for Euros or Sterling at the moment ?

    just watch the euro over the next few weeks.... ;)

    the dollar will keep going down for the next two weeks !!!

    the pound will go down against the euro even more this month...

    His companies Inside Track and Instant Access Properties - both of which have now folded - mined the public's obsession with easy money from property. Inside Track offered £2,500 weekend seminars on how to make money from bricks and mortar.

    Instant Access Properties identified properties and sold them to punters, for a finder's fee.

    Three years ago, Mr Moore was estimated to be worth more than £100million. Now, despite still owning 'a number of properties', he claims to be strapped for cash.

    He and his wife Kim, 46, who have three children, moved to southern Spain in 2003 but split up in 2005 after seven years of marriage.

    Although they initially divorced in the Spanish courts, Kim Moore brought a case in London in the hope of securing a bigger payout.

    Last year, it was reported that Mr Moore had been ordered to pay her £16million in property, a deferred lump sum of £4.7million and maintenance.

    Mr Moore said last night: ' Immediately after the court case, I filed an objection to set aside the lump sum payment as it was clear I was left with almost no cash."
