  1. I think you will find its not a strong pound but weaker other currencies. There is nothing to make the pound strong where bad date elsewhere in the would is weakening other currencies more. It was us a few months ago, mow its the rest or the world with the currency downgrading.
  2. There is a difference in republicans and republicans involved in terroist actions though.
  3. I agree, but we can't make decissions on flawed reports. I am personally against a lot of the new terrorist laws, the law has to be fair
  4. Rember the Birmingham 6 got off on a techicality. They claimed the explosive residue was similar to that found on certain playing cards back then. They were heavily involved in the republican movement.
  5. Police can use force to take DNA, Photo, and finger prints if someone has been arrested for a recordable crime. It very rally happens. I personally have no problem with my DNA being taken, I have done nothing wrong. Personally I think everyone should have it taken at birth as it would solve so many future crimes and thus prevent other people being raped and murdered by the same suspects. What I have a problem with is if it is used for other reasons and it has to be protected for crime purposes only and not stray into the realms of insurance comanpy dna profiling for cover. As for the story, its b@ll@cks. Police don't just arrest people to get a dna sweep they have enough on their plate. I know this for a fact. The police federation would b up in arms if this was true. It is sloppy and misleading reporting.
  6. It has been bottoming off each month for the last 2 years according to real estate agents on bloomberg.
  7. Moneybox - Radio program devoted to house prices Sounds a good program with property bears and rampers; enjoy link below: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00g3...Box_27_12_2008/
  8. All over the country it seems going by the original article. You can be a part of it if you pay about £300 to get Ajays emails and then another few thousand for a finders fee.
  9. http://www.ahuja.co.uk/property-services/h...e-this-service/ Yes this is fraud and under the fraud act it is covered by Fraud by abuse of position. Fraud by abuse of position (1) A person is in breach of this section if he— (a)occupies a position in which he is expected to safeguard, or not to act against, the financial interests of another person, (b)dishonestly abuses that position, and ©intends, by means of the abuse of that position— (i)to make a gain for himself or another, or (ii)to cause loss to another or to expose another to a risk of loss. (2) A person may be regarded as having abused his position even though his conduct consisted of an omission rather than an act. http://www.statutelaw.gov.uk/content.aspx?...p;filesize=1556
  10. No its a kick. If you watch the video you will see the officers approach the male after he goes towards them making unknown comments. Excluding what has happened before there is likely a drunk and disorderly offence which is an arrestable offence. From the video the punches are justified. One officer is trying to cuff him in a rear stack, another is having trouble moving the free arm to the cuff due to the suspect resisting. The third officer strikes twice the shoulder blade twice to weaken the arm to get it cuffed. It fails, he pauses, reassess and realises it needs more force and hits it six times. This allows the arm to placed round the rear and he is quickly cuffed. Force eneded. That move is justified by police use of force ledgislation. The head gratting and blow to the head are not. Some people in their ivory towers should come down and face the reality of the streets. There are times when force is needed, it may not be pretty but it is a fact of life. As for the brazilian I would of shot him based on the information the officers going on the tube recieved. I could not of lived with myself if I had let a sucide bomber explode on a crowed tube just because I hesitated. It was a traggic mistake, when the whole force was under extreme preasure, one of my colleagues had a mutilated sister from the previous attacks, four escaped sucide bombers, a fith bomb descarded of a unidentified fith bomber in W12 on the loose as well. It happens especially when we have had 100s of bomb calls, dozens of armed stops in a 36 hour period. We were stretched to breaking just like the indian police this week.
  11. Hi, I would like to clarify a few things in the video. Being ex military and now in the police I think I can give a balanced opinion on the video compaired to the commentator. What first you have to take into account is the police don't now his service before the event. He is drunk and approaches the officers pointing at them saying something to trigger police action. He is taken down as cleanly as could be, it may not look nice but it is a reality of what happens when you try and restrain someone. Banging his head on the floor is completly out of order. The head is a vulnerable part and you should never strike it apart from the most extreme circumstances. All police training teaches that. The bite is wrong and can justify more force but the scrapping of the head is totally out of order. All the punches are justified however. It is a technique to get someone resisting with their arms to loosen them enough to get them round the back to hand cuff them. I have had to do it twice on violently mentaly ill people and seen it done in similar circumstances. The injuries aren't shocking, police oftern get the same injuries when taking people down, they go after a couple of days. PC Light foot should be investigated but the other two did nothing wrong. My own dealings with drunk military is that I tend to be over tollerant of them and only arrest if I really have no choice. Usally have words with their friends to get him out of here while asking my colleagues to restrain their actions. I fully aware of the affects of battle stress after studying it at university. I'm also aware from my own experiences of comming out of the field, wanting to let you hair down, getting a little bit over carried away and drinking to excess. Its been the squadie way for centuries
  12. Actually your right. It use to be a buglary hotspot (Munster ward) situated right between Clem Atlee Estate and Lanoy Point. Mostly typical burglars funding their crack habbit but also a gang of moped burglars. However its tonned down a lot this year.
  13. Sorry I thought it was low interest rates that caused this economic explosion and destruction. Now we have some buy to let investor and promoter calling for massive cuts but at the same time saying we are not going to have a crash. I think an email to him is in order to set him straight on a few things.
  14. I don't think even todays package will get buy to let excited. Have a look on Singing Pig at the moment, there are hardly any threads created or added to now. The Landlords seem now to be completly demoralised. I think even the bulls on the biggest bullish web site have accepted reality that prices are crashing and with the collapse of their favourite lenders (Mortgage Express, BM, Paragon etc) their re mortgage costs are going through the roof.
  15. What you have to remember was there were dozens of addresses being watched based on huge amounts of intelligence leads. Remeber the address was linked to terrorist groups. Everyone was stretched so thin trying to cover every lead and the system broke due to the huge scale. As for the CCTV, 10's thousands of tapes and CDs were seized, do you know how much time and manpower that takes to analyse, especially on stretched resources? Mistakes happen, we are only human. These are the same people who have stopped a dozen attacks since. Famously the IRA said "You have to be lucky all the time, we have to be lucky only once".
