2006, during the great FUBRA/Google Ads uproar was the real tumbleweed era. Many regular posters objected to the new ads policy and jumped ship to The Other Side (which was actively trying to poach members from here, as clearly evidenced by the threads of the time). It was like GEI on here at times, it was THAT quiet. Thankfully the mods of that time (now "without honour in their own country" as it were) were able to stop this "reaping" as it was called and the site prevailed. Seems like ancient history now.

At a time when people who run banks into the ground can walk away with multi-million pound bonuses, I would say not. Wishing to avoid paying tax to the current government sounds like an excellent idea, purely on general principle, and ignoring any (minor) financial benefits.
