I lost the faith unlike a lot of you still here... always thought it was going to be a dirty bomb that caused the `only buy when the blood is on the floor` moment, got that wrong , but what is the value of a trllion pound note when nobody will handle cash money and the card machine doesn`t work?

At least it's an attempt to get serious contemporary stuff across in a funny way. Most of the supposedly 'radical' comedians on the BBC haven't moved on from the days when all you needed to do was say 'Thatcher' and 'Tories' to get a laugh. (Yes I'm looking at YOU Marcus Brigstocke, Mark Steel, Mark Thomas, etc etc).
`
`actually` what you needed to do was stand strark bollac naked in front of an audience with a lighted firework up your bum.. Malcom Hardee you are sadly missed in the not so brave new world of corporate sellouts that don`t allow hecklers..

Sainsbury's has only one role, to keep the rif raf out of Waitroes

In the last election over 20% of Scots voted conservative - and for a finger in the air guess. I would say between a third and a half of Scots don't hate thatcher at all.
.. native born? heading for the hills to avoid hpi (and/or benefit from), has been going on for a very, very long time

There are still a few timber frame houses from the 15/16th Century still around.
built by Barratt Homes??
-
I remember a conversation I had with an experienced surveyor about Victorian construction. He didn't rate it at all. Shallow foundations, if any, and lots of other problems.
.. yep, there`ll be loads of timber frame new builds still around in 120 years time ......... NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this hatred of Germany on here! Someone even posts Fawlty Towers! Blimey...as far as I can see, Germany seems to have got most things right. It has an industrial base, whilst we have house prices. Even their football league is run better than ours - ours is bought out by Russians and sheiks. I can only presume the hatred of Germany on here is borne out of jealousy.
... throwing your Granparents into a barn and setting fire to it (across most parts of europe) might just possibly also have something to do with it........

The plebs are like dried beans - need a long soak and plenty of water changes to soften up before you bung them into the melting pot!
a haricot indeed....
I`ll get my coat..

I thought they were detached houses with big back gardens, from what I recall, but not 100% sure.. Was the house which Terry and June lived, a semi or detached property in Guildford or Purley? Anyway, checking on the web, photos of the Good Life houses, as below, show them as detached. Thinking about it, it would be unimaginable that Margo would live in a semi.

Elementary, sir.
Try seizing last years skiing holiday post conviction, much harder than clamping the Bentley and auctioning it off.

yes, they should open more than one checkout.
look a little bit closer next time your in..................
a businessman will pay one person two peoples pay to do three people jobs
an accountant who runs a business will pay one person £6.19 p/h
bankrupt Britain is run by accountants
Aldi is run by Germans

So when they ask for my CV which shows the only jobs I have had are in professional ones, I say what? Or do you expect me to lie? Jesus.
can`t get away with it anyway now.....
under F.O.I. you can request a (free) copy from HMRC of all the N.I. contributions you have ever paid throughout your life... which also states who you have worked for!
and the dates
now while a potential employer can not directly get this information themselves, they can of course get (make!) you, to do it for them

Go accounting rules!
I'm sure as taxpayers this news fills you all full of joy.
Especially as it seems likely the Royal Mail gets sold off, so the profits get privatised the losses are socialised on the taxpayer.
Great news.
privatised `profits`............ sack all the `real` posties, asset strip every thing, sell and lease back all the property portfollio, charge £30.00 for a stamp and that shower of
sh!te will still NEVER turn a real world profit
then again what does these days

Stacking super market shelves sure is the answer to everything!
Youngsters
School leavers
Graduates
Work shy dole recipients
Terminally ill
Disabled
Mums
Pensioners
Sod houses, there aren't enough shelves.
if I ran a big supermarket I would palletise my goods, with clever mechanical displays that pushed or droped stock forward and then I wouldn`t even need shelf fillers...
for all their billions why haven`t the big corps realised how inefficient shelf filling actually is?

I reckon Scotlands the place to be. I've been thinking about it for a while now, and looking at fantastic places on sea lochs, that are real cheap compared to places down here in the south.
I fancy getting a boat and catching the odd sea trout or salmon. Getting a dog and walking with my gun to shoot the odd pheasant or grouse.
Then taking my guitar down to the local pub, and sit by a roaring fire and entertain in the evening.
And some of those Scottish lasses are well fit !!!
... on the wall of my daughters primary school is a poster from the Scotish Goverment,
its shows a Russian doll with all the smaller dolls all in a line
under the biggest doll is the Scottish Saltire and under the other dolls are the flags of Ireland, Pakistan, India, Somalia etc..
with the strap line that esentially says we`re all one big happy family living together in multicultural harmony
all good stuff apart one teeny weeny detail...
there is one flag missing from this poster FROM THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT
and its the flag of the nation of the largest ethnic minority in Scotland
a wee something to think about when moving north

a few years ago I suggested to some senior bods at Comet that they should have they own satellite tv Chanel to sell AND demonstrate their goods.. have it on in store and on line live ...
I was laughed at...
they are now all out on their arses....
my point .. when you buy anything online (or nowadays anywhere else) have you not already made up your mind to buy it in the first place.. you`re just looking for the best price?
where are the sites/stores that can demonstrate and SELL to you something that you THEN actually want to buy?

it's as good as gone isn't it?
looks like the LL's will be going to the barber's too.

It's too difficult to answer this as it suffers from the same spaghetti muddle of questionably labelled ideologies and interests as the Occupy Wall St protests - which is effectively trying to constantly focus on some distinct group to direct their ire whilst ignoring that their behaviour is directly related to some of their own personal and democratic choices.
I have nothing in common with a corporate career background director of Tesco but am lumped together as having the same views.
I suspect that it's unfortunately a lot of people who have yet to realise they don't have much money to spend or any labour to sell that much interests a lot of businesses and they'll increasingly deal exclusively with people who do.
can communists be self employed ?
