  1. So what you're saying is if all this works as you expect it too, house prices will just keep dramatically rising and falling every few years until the eventual crash and lenders will just keep churning out excessive credit and occuring ever greater potential losses until that time just because you want them to? Or is it that you know these people are even bigger retards than I've come to realise yet? And people will just keep buying under these circumstances?!!! Unsettled
  2. You haven't answered my question how will the inevitable commodity/energy/price inflation and the resulting interest rate rises not spoil your house price recovery party? Unsettled.
  3. Isn't the problem with your thesis that your price and asset inflation will trigger off another round of interest rate rises and commodity and energy inflation similar to the one we've recently experienced? And will this not throw the economy back into the situation your thesis has so recently saved it from? How then can any increase in house prices be sustained for any length of time? Unsettled.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I used to live in Tean, but I'm in Shrophire now, near Oswestry. I carried on with the Leek United because they were a small building society that had already seen off an attempt to turn it into a bank. Though it turns out it was a good thing it didn't become a bank, I'm not sure if it's smallness might be a problem under the current circumstances.
  5. Joined Leek United 10 years ago as I thought they were too small to be a target to be converted into a Bank, though someone did try unsuccesfully. I've taken half my savings out and put them in Nationwide. However I'm loathe to take all of them out as I've been saving with them for so long and think this will help when it comes to getting a mortgage in the future (if there is any money around by then for mortgages) Anyway I wondered if anyone knew anything about the Leek United, good, bad or anything else? They did used to advertise Buy to let mortgages in their branches and on their website but I've no idea whar % of their loans this noxious business accounted for.
  6. Burgeoning population? Is that why Universities are expecting a large demographic shortfall in 18 year olds and a resulting drop in Student numbers affecting their incomes over the next 10 years.
  7. Hello, Although a new member I've been waiting since the early 2000s in the expectation of house prices crashing. Experienced the usual ridicule and had an horrendous time renting from four different but similarily appalling landlords. Hoping life and my health will pick up soon and that one day I won't have to constantly scrutinise the economy for signs of hope(for me). What a sick society!
