Economic anomaly?

Exactly! In the UK we spend £5bn at Xmas for instance, on what tat and turkey... £5bn... what improvements could we make to the NHS if we added that amount to its budget? or spent it on Cancer research? or improved education? pay our teachers, nurses, scientists, doctors attractive salaries rather than giving it to 'celebrities' that contribute little to humanity?

What's the point? The planets doomed. Let's build spaceships instead.

No shops. We'll just barter in the streets.

Lets hope they all get sacked… now how will they pay off their own mortgages?? Hahaha

Hi, I've been reading the threads with some interest recently and decided to join up... I learnt a very valuable lesson about 'bubbles' in 2000 by buying shares in lastminute.bomb ..I lost £135 and I can say it was the best money I have ever spent! ...I admit I had no idea what I was doing...(I still don't, and have no desire too)... I recognized the signs of a housing bubble and got off the property ladder in 2003..(used the cash to pay off debt and change careers - much happier now!)... The HPC has been coming for a long time.. I think the fallout will be devastating and massive ... It will change the way we live our lives.. I hope for the better???
