  1. I have been with First Direct for a while and can highly recommend. Maybe its the fact you can do everything online or on the phone/by post so never have to deal with branch staff.
  2. Spring sale time :-) http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-17581522.html one day they will realise that even 500K for this kind of house is way too high in this area..... Its been on for a few years now having been first listed in 2008 :-) I believe it may even have been on with another agent prior to the 2008 listing. Interesting to see if this one goes through and at what price :-) Not worth over £350K in the current market, on this road.
  4. Happy New Year! 5. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-20739855.html Someone did not realise how much their house was really worth so they added an additonal £70K three days after listing, its not even built yet :-) History date event Mon Nov 14 18:50:27 2011 Price changed: from '£795,000' to '£865,000' Fri Nov 11 16:41:26 2011 Initial entry found. It must be the comedy season as this joker http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32039752.html wants £850k for a house on a road where the 2007 high was £480K, it backs onto a school and you should see the number of mobile phone masts that overlook the property both from the railway bridge and the school, cant be a healthy place to live. You would have to be out of your mind to pay anywhere near 500K for this place.
  6. If the house/land is worth less in the future (say when a railway or road is built or other development) will they compensate you to a similar level
  7. Its starting to get interesting http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-20274132.html first listed a few years ago at close to £1.9m it has been reduced over the past few years and from memory I think it has been on for around1m for a while, now going to auction with a guide price of £650K.
  8. Saxon is OK, its borderline shore side of Birkdale but there are a lot of flats down there both old people and HMO's, in my view this should be a 250-300k house max, give it a few years.
  9. Sorry to hear that you have lost your job, it is very tough at the moment and I can only see it getting a lot worse. Having said that the company I work for has just laid off several electrical engineers and computer programmers, the majority of them have found new work within a few weeks and from all accounts they are now better paid and in more secure companies. Good Luck and I hope it works out for you.
  10. Lots of properties joining the "Get Moving" weekend with drops between 10 and 50K, its a start but they will have to drop a lot more to have a chance of selling, will now predict 50% drops within the next 5 years. Bring it on.
  11. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-34520489.html This property forms part of our 'Let's Get Moving Focus Week' The price has been reduced by £20,000 This needs to be reduced by £300, 000 to sell. This house was bought at auction very cheap (around £300,000) a few years ago by a developer who then sold it on for around 800K having done a refurb, I guess the current owners are going to take a bath on this one.
  12. I agree, I think that all the houses on Burlington will fall back to around the 250K mark over time, the timeframe is the big question as it could take another decade, higher interest rates might speed things up though.
  13. Optimistic for a repo, they discovered an extra bedroom and added 10K http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-19969965.html date event Tue Sep 13 15:53:10 2011 Price changed: from '£400,000' to '£410,000' Subtitle changed: from 'House ' to '4 bedroom bungalow ' Tue Sep 13 00:31:20 2011 Initial entry found. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31454419.html new place gone on sale on crosby road, nice road but way overpriced, this should be around 350k max, Chris Tinsley are fast catching Halsall as the EA's who over value most in Southport.
  14. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-18428145.html More daft pricing from a formby EA. History date event Fri Sep 9 20:47:37 2011 Price changed: from '£475,000' to '£449,000' Fri Apr 8 17:54:36 2011 Price changed: from '£425,000' to '£475,000' Tue Mar 29 21:57:18 2011 Initial entry found.
  15. Withdraw your offer and walk away, forget about this house, there are pleny more out there. Let the current owner stay there forever or until they wise up and stop wasting your time.
  16. A unique opportunity to own a piece of real estate that truly is out of this world, own an acre of land on Mars. If you are looking for a truly original gift for the person who already has all their earthly needs catered for then MoonEstates.com have the answer... their own piece of the heavens! How this is possible: American Dennis M. Hope, spotting a loophole in The Outer Space Treaty of 1967, filed a declaration of ownership for Earth's Moon and the planets Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto as well as their respective moons, on November 22, 1980. This declaration of ownership was initially filed at the San Francisco County offices and then filed with the U.S.A., U.S.S.R., and the General Assembly of the United Nations. A copy of this declaration is included with every property purchased. He has granted MoonEstates.com the exclusive rights to sell extraterrestrial land in the United Kingdom.
  17. The property is worth what somone is willing (and able) to pay. In this case its 90K. You do however have to ask your self if it is really worth 90K given that your bid is based on being able to resell for a 50% premium. Assuming you could not sell for any premium in the near to mid term (5-10) years, is it still worth 90K to you?
  18. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-34852484.html Back on the market with another agent, this is the third agent they have tried over the past few years, I remember talking to their first agent and he said that they had offers around 500K but would not reduce their price. They have maintained the current price 675K from the beginning. In a few years they will wish they had taken 500K
  19. Sunday Times Magazine, Bear Food article. Paula Daly had a 50k salary, a busuiness and her own flat. In a matter of weeks she lost it all Jonathan Weal, 53, then property developer with homes woth an estimated 2.5m now, unemployed, homeless, burdened with 300k mortgage debt, seperated from wife & living apart from his children James Cousisns, 43, then salaried business analyst in the city, now made redundant 3 years ago, facing reposession, negative equity, mortgage arrears..... Report pages 23-27
  20. Thats a £500K house max if ever I saw one. Maybe EA's should run a Pricerunner site for houses where people bid the max they would pay for a house and the winner gets the house, works for hotel rooms so why not houses.
  21. If you really like it offer 330 or whatever you really think its worth and see if they bite, people do strange things under pressure and a move to Oz is a big decision. Good Luck
  22. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16998396.html Posted about this one before, it started at £550 and has seen a few sales fall through over the last few years, now at £425k and heading down, if it falls to 350 I know a few people who would be interested. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32691149.html This one on the other hand is a joke, if this goes anywhere near 500k I dont think they would find a buyer Lots of houses on Granville Road coming onto the market at very high prices, approx 700K. Two issues with these houses, one) there is a planning application for the development of the deaf school into a housing scheme that would overlook Granville Road and cause a significant traffic/noise increase two) there is an underground river that runs along Granville Road so a flood risk. Will be interesting to see if any of them sell at this level. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32353136.html http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-26903189.html http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32797625.html http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29579302.html http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-17180781.html?premiumA=true
  23. Yes, they announced it is closing down last month http://techcrunch.com/2011/06/24/google-shuts-down-medical-records-and-health-data-platform/ due to lack of critical mass. Should have been a no brainer for the NHS, although doctors might not have liked the fact that the patient owns their individual health record and defines who has access.

  25. Yes you can get paid, you also need planning permission.
