  1. It looks like this one http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=36599362&sale=8324222&country=england 27 May 2005 Semi-Detached, Freehold £230,000 Count - I wish I had your optimism...
  2. I like Greenwich. But not this much... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-34950162.html
  3. Don't kid yourself on this one. The £100K drop is because they are now selling the shop separately. For £100K
  4. Quite simply, your Letting Agent should not be saying anything different from the contract - without agreeing to change the terms on the agreement. As an absolutely minimum, I would confirm, by email, the conversation that you've had and that he's agreed the term is irreverent. Because on ehting is for sure, that you'll be bound by the terms of the agreement - and conversation will be worth the papers it's (not) written on)
  5. Rob Weaver, director of investments at the property crowdfunding platform Property Partner, said: "The market is taking a breather and is certainly not on the brink of a longer term decline."
  6. I think that is 201 - never sold. Here are the two above (identical) Apartment 401, Park Vista Tower, 5 Cobblestone Square, London, Greater London E1W 3AY £725,000 Flat, Leasehold (New Build) 26 Mar 2014 Apartment 301, Park Vista Tower, 5 Cobblestone Square, London, Greater London E1W 3AY £734,400 Flat, Leasehold (New Build) 25 Mar 2014 So sadly kiteflying and not by any stretch a bargain. The people upstairs are still opening the bubbly!
  7. I'd read your contract. Often there is a clause that allows notice (after the first 6 months) of 2 months from either party. Worth a go, otherwise as the WOH says above. Ask. (I'd start with the Landlord as that's whom you actually have the agreement with. Good luck - and congratulations!
  8. I think there may be a management statement due tomorrow. Perhaps someone knows what's going to be in it
  9. There's every chance the auctioneer was taking bids off the wall to generate some interest. But failed
  10. Ouch! Is the tide going out around your way??? 28 Sorrel Drive, Bridgwater, Somerset TA5 2BX 06 Jun 2014 Detached, Freehold£295,000 17 Dec 2010 Detached, Freehold (New Build) £374,950 http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=38848564&sale=51630659&country=england
  11. Ouch! Share Price Information for Foxtons (FOXT) Share Price: 165.00 Bid: 165.70 Ask: 166.00 Change: -40.30 (-19.63%) Spread: 0.30 Spread as %: 0.18% Open: 175.00 High: 178.40 Low: 164.80 Yesterday’s Close: 205.30
  12. Interesting history - it looks like they've spent some money renovating it - it definitely looks like they've failed to sell it for more than 2 years. After a year they lowered the price to "in the region of £650K" Now it's just £650K Land Registry sold prices Stables Cottage, School Lane, Hannington, Northampton, Northamptonshire NN6 9ST Sale Date Property Price Paid Source 27 May 2009 Detached, Freehold £510,000 Land Registry 19 Jun 2006 Detached, Freehold £615,000 Land Registry This property is currently on the market
  13. I partly agree with the sentiment however the increase in an area (SW8) that has a massive building program does not reflect on the general market (which doesn't have the same building programme throughout). As it's a small area, it will not drive down the prices in the same way that it would if it were all areas.
  14. Not that I want to rain on anyones parade, but the build up of stock is quite likely due to hundreds of new flats on the Nine Elms Lane developments coming onto the market in the last few months.
  15. Bought for £887K in 2007 - put on for £1.5M and now £1.35M. Nothing appears to have been done to the property That's hardly a crash. Just slightly less than complete madness
  16. 26 Jun 2009 Detached, Freehold £303,500 Land Registry Someone may be taking a haircut sometime soon...
  17. It's an increase in ASKING price of 15% over 6 months.
  18. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-orders-three-water-cannon-for-met-police-9525221.html Water cannon coming to London: Boris Johnson approves controversial crowd control tactic in challenge to Theresa May’s authority
  19. Last sale £290,000 on 18th May 2007 Been on the market since March. Not exactly a bargain but it does show that the recent excesses appear to be fading now. http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/32365776
  20. Held to account? One of the execs? BLASPHEMY!!! Seize him men
  21. The company I worked for rented a serviced office in London. We only used it a few times a month so it really didn't justify it's cost. Some service providers such as Regus have business lounges around the country which have work areas, kitchens etc which you can use (any location) for a monthly fee and also offices you can hire by the hour (Ooh err We found that we could get some Gold cards that would usually be £35 per month per person for free whihc gave us entry to the lounges and if we needed private space we could rent the rooms with a small discount. I have also noticed some community and other not for profit organisations rent rooms out to local business at a decent rate. That seems to have worked for us (although I do appear to be storing lots of stuff in my house these days!) Hope that helps Bankside
  22. There are two in the same street - similar type of houses sold recently. One in Nov 13 for £219K and the other in Aug 13 for £201K. These jokers were asking for £450K - more than double!. What IS interesting is that both of the above sold for LESS than previously bought in 2007 http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/E7-8QE.html/svr/3101;jsessionid=4CED594747C92D963F964400CFF7186C?backListLink=%2Fproperty-for-sale%2Ffind.html%3FlocationIdentifier%3DPOSTCODE%255E276764%26minPrice%3D300000%26maxPrice%3D400000%26minBedrooms%3D4%26radius%3D0.5
  23. Could this mean new retirees will buy BTLs rather than an annuity?
