  2. Have you had a look at the average high street or shopping centre lately? How many commercial properties are empty? Rental Voids Higher than in the 1990s Recession The economy is like an oil tanker, it takes ages to turn round, and it isnt very fast.

  4. Anyone fancy developing http://www.housepriceincrease.co.uk Cos one day house prices will go up..... Bulls, this domain is for sale for 10k ! in my dreams!
  5. Presenter Martin Roberts says: - isnt that a contradiction? This is for a new build city centre (tiny) 2 bed apartment in Leeds. It went through to Auction Nov 2008 Buyer had some savings and she thought it was a good time to buy Flat was 3 yrs old and had never been lived in. 30 Oct 08 Price at Auction: 65k From what we know now, his advice is even worse than ever with property prices like he says dropping like a stone.
  6. House prices stop falling because the idiot EAs say that buyers are there waiting to grab a bargain, so the sellers either stop dropping prices or increase them. In the meantime buyers dont have the deposit, and are unable to get finance. New sellers stay away from the market thinking that one day houses will return to 07 prices, and we know this cannot happen as there isnt a mechanism for selling on mortages as during the boom time. http://www.channel4.com/4homes/property-mo...#33;8888!-1 : So the VIs keep on trying to grow those green shoots.
  7. and then the valuer from the mortgage company comes along and revalues it at a more realistic price pricing in expected falls, and then knocks 40k off the price. The vendor either takes the advice and drops the price, or the property stays on the market at a dreamland price.

  9. Network Rail should take over all the Train Operating Companies (TOCs), and then the Government should nationalise it.
  10. Take the East Coast Mainline with its principal operator National Express, they are expected to pay 1.4 billion to th government for a licence to operate trains on the line. They also have to pay track access charges to Network Rail. GNER had to give it up when they ran it due the cost. http://www.journallive.co.uk/north-east-ne...634-23551860/3/
  11. 13. It mentioned that they put 100k down from a previous sale. May be they mewed some more out of the house since they bought it.
  14. That was quite depressing watching... Between 2005 and 2007, imagine how many houses were sold. Most of these people would be now in -ve equity. I'd expect quite a few of those to come to market at knock down prices.
  15. Its not looking good for the rental market, with increased choice of rental properties this will dilute the market even more. Buy to letters relied on been able to cover the mortgage payments, this is becoming more difficult due to the rental voids that many are having. Lenders are charging a heck of a lot more in fees for arranging buy to let loans, plus the properties that BTLers own are losing value every day. Things are looking bleak, which may ultimately force a lot more properties on to the for sale market. The real losers are the people who are renting the houses unfortunately.
  16. Google News carries 3 news stories recording this: http://news.google.co.uk/news/story?hl=en&...=1&resnum=1 Google asks, "Do you mean its a shame the banks are insolvent?"
