  1. I think cells makes some good points. However, if he took the time to correct his grammar and spelling he would: • give himself some time to re-edit • be more persuasive • demonstrate considered thought (as opposed to angry 'jit' typing)
  2. Now that would be painful. Cells, no offence mate, but when and where did you learn English? You should return to your secondary school and rabbit punch the person responsible for your illiteracy.
  3. I hate Foxton's with a passion. Did anyone watch the expose on television about them maybe a year and a half ago. Some undercover female journalist worked at the Islington branch and secretly filmed their many dodgy practices - quite disgusting viewing. I happen to rent in Islington (sold my Stoke Newington flat in april 07) and see their office (boiler room) pretty much everyday. Sounds like the Pinner office - fridges full of perrier, rows of empty desks, and not a lot of people (punters or agents). The secret agent * edited to add link
  4. Ah, of course we'd want proximity to the 'cafe' as they close. I think I'd rather sit and sip a nicely chilled glass of Chablis in Fredericks. It would be close enough to hear the anguished sobs of any remaining agents as (t)he(y) handed over the key(s) to their his mini(s). As to their relocation - I hear there is office space available above Bario North on Essex Road.
  5. I'll take you up on the drink as I live just round the corner. But the steam passage? How about the Island Queen, and I'll stick £50 behind the bar to celebrate that Foxtons branch closing.
  6. I'm tracking Islington and Camden. Price range I'm tracking is 350-550. I've seen a few reductions, and nothing selling so far. It looks like it's going to be a long drawn out waiting game, with most people chasing the market down. Camden drops: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-169...=2&tr_t=buy 12nd May 2008 * Price changed: from '£535,000' to '£499,950' 18th Apr 2008 * Initial entry found. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-100...=2&tr_t=buy 29th Apr 2008 * Price changed: from '£525,000' to '£495,995' 22nd Apr 2008 * Initial entry found. This one has been on for months. Initially with one agent, now showing in rightmove with 4 agents. 7. I think he also writes for the Independent: Story link Another one You can read more stories by searching for 'secret agent'. Seems like his career exit strategy is to become a journalist - I personally hope he manages it.
  8. I read his post to mean he was earning £1300 when, after college, he started to work. He found the £130 a month mortgage payment on that salary painful at the time, but 'less relevant' now.
