  1. But this is the problem, why is everyone SO willing and hankering after more debt all of the time, its gotten ridiculous.
  2. Then you cannot do any of those things until the time is right and you can afford it.....Its about time people did not rely on other peoples money so heavily to fund their own wishes. Save, save and save more. As said elsewhere, ditch the 4x4 car, the weekly trash mags, the regular starbucks coffee outings, the drinking, fags, sky TV and all other things that are not essentials of life and your/their time will come. Its just going to take a bit more effort for a while instead of holding your hand out and recieveing. A hard but good lesson to learn.
  3. Well, not surprising really. London and the larger cities are going to be the main loosers in the property price market if any drops occur. I think that the whole of the UK is being lumped under one or two areas of price decline when in effect, its the main cities that are affected more than anywhere else. As someone else has stated, if you do not need/have to sell at the moment, ie-Its not just a whim or socila climbing, dont sell. The trouble is, there will be the normal greed guzzling quick buck merchants out desperate to get a fast return. Its these people that will be willing to take a drop in price as they honestly did not have any interest in "Long Term Gain".

  5. I love property ladder, its a bit like watching an old Doris Day movie, you can nod off and know the ending will be happy ever after. Such a benile format, she telling the would be developers that they are over spending at every stage and then, low and behold, they make a good profit. Deffinately a show for the sheep and lemmings, along with "homes under the hammer"........For any relatively get rich quick scheme to work, you need to be in at the beggining, not the end.
  6. Dodgy allround IMO. You will always get people such as this in life, no matter what the financial climate. I bet that they, like many, many others, are still drinking, smoking, buying magazines, drinking coffee in Starbucks, watching sky sports TV, driving a black 4x4 etc etc etc.
  7. Never said there wasnt any bull standpoint did I? Just voicing my synicle streak regarding anything shown on TV as being contrived to give an end result the producers require from the programmes inception, they did it well tonight for many non thinkers I bet.
  8. Not sure why from an old (probably well cut) clip that was probably filmed before the US bank drama that fuelled what has happened here since. Also, we were NOT shown the context of the conversation preceeding all of their predictions. The total show (entertainment originated), abismal in all its efforts to give any sort of balanced view.
  9. Exactly, one of the main perpetrators of the current gloom are the lenders. Who decides how many times a wage they will offer on a mortgage at the end of the day...... Who deals out the cash knowing that people will not be able to pay it back in reality. They should take equal responsibilty with the people taking them up on their mortgages at these stupid mortgage calculations. Lets face it, a still property market was surely better than an out of control one that they helped create.
  10. No, no, no.......Please dont do that, simply vote for them and make them squirm even more. They honestly do NOT want another term in office, their REAL preference is passing the crap current economy onto another party to sort out. I never vote Labour, but will next time. They made their bed, let them lie in it.
  11. I wish I could take a 4 month break and get straight back into work.............. Anyone feeling any sympathy for sunbed shop owners who must also be feeling the pinch big time after all of the bad publicity about our health, doubtful, just the hosing industry then :-)
  12. Doubtful, but I did think that the thread title and content was actualy aimed at being sarcastic at first, sadly not :-)
  13. This happens everyday, admittedly, many firms will use the current economic scaremongering to get rid of any dead wood. Give them an inch and you know the rest........... An Isolated event do not a disater make.
  14. I luved the auction where the Lady clutching her baby to her bossoms (the normal TV sympathy grabbing attempt) flat never sold, there were only 8 people present. Not every property at auction sells or where they trying to infer than "Normally" they do. As to the people blindly buying properties, thats without even seeing them (doh") and now being irrate because they made a bad investment, JEEEEZ. ITV really scraping the bottom of the barrel to fuel more irresponsible and unecessary scaremongering, their TV special effects team did a great job on this show, no need for smoke and mirrors ;-)
  15. LOL, the lights are off and so no one lives there, what a joke............
