  1. Got it in one. Few staff will work an hour here and there. Years ago working in hot food the owner wanted people for 2 hours at lunch ,then to go home and come back for another 2 hours. The staff didn't like it at all and very few people accepted this kind of work pattern.
  2. My own businesses need things delivered now and again. I've moved sideways into actual tangible stuff to sell. Partly why I moved here as it wasn't viable out of a flat. The delivery drivers in their trucks the OWNERS are doing to the driving, when a few months ago it was the driver and a drivers mate. Then it was the driver himself only. Then it was the owner. I pay the owner in cash and the wad he used to carry around is extremely thin compared to the start of the year. When he pulled out his wad it used to be about 2-3000£. But today when he delivered some stuff (which was posted out this morning pretty much an hour after delivery) his wad must have been about £40 if that.
  3. Which is why I don't skydive in the USA. Sure you can join the USPA for a month for $20. But this only covers 3rd party. Stick in medical insurance and you're looking at $500 for insurance for a week!
  4. Now you see my emergency planning makes complete sense now, fat chavs are unable to run very far....
  5. Why are you talking about QE3? It has already been rubber stamped QE4 and QE5 are where it is at.
  6. The worlds oldest profession? The workers need to keep looking their best to keep attracting customers?
  7. Interestingly I'm wondering if I should replace my AAD in my skydiving rig, its £1000. But lasts 20 years...... but its still £1000 which is a fair amount to fork out in one go.... Btw it is a small computer you wear in your rig so that if you are travelling more than 32mph by 1000ft it opens your reserve for you. However this can actually cause problems like two canopies out at the same time causing a down stream.
  8. Tsk the magic printing press can pay for EVERYTHING.... NO The magic printing press WILL pay for EVERYTHING. Just opposing sides of the same coin
  9. NEVER rent a safe deposit box, the state can and only 2 years ago went and opened 7000 safe deposit boxes in London. Secondly just hide it somewhere safe, the best insurance is that nobody knows it is there.
  10. You disappoint me your have doubts in your faith of the magic printing press? Hang your head in shame.....
  11. How long till Finland is declared a rogue state and NATO bombing.... to protect civilians of course is enacted. Anybody who disagrees is a terrorist.
  12. Erm ALL pensions are taxable as income. Its just that when you hit 65 and then 75 I think you get a bit more personal allowance.
  13. Btw http://www.thelightsinthetunnel.com/ Martin Ford describes this exact problem but from a technical point of view.
  14. Somebody stuck a somebody else's problem field over it though.... it usually wears off once one is made redundant.... Still short termism is the British way.... I'm sure we can just print more money to paper over the cracks quite literally.
  15. Except that price controls don't work. And the new masters will immediately inflate, the system is designed to inflate. And the market will correct the real price.
  16. http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article14996.html But there is a silver..... or rather gold lining. If loads of those 400oz bad boys turn out to be salted tungsten plated bars, then it means that real gold is even rarer than we thought. Which means even less supply which means instead of gold going to the moon, it will end up somewhere in Alpha centuri.
  17. If you leave the country you are supposed to tell the SLC, who then put you on a £250 a month repayment plan. Or even more. But what happens is people simply abscond. Richard the guy who does ESL has monstrous debts from his biology degree (he took a year out in Mozambique and spent loads there too). He didn't tell the SLC, and since he's been there for 2+ years has pretty much annihilated any decent job prospects he may have wanted in the UK... if there were any anyway.
  18. Hi, I have few questions related to Weighton Coin website and one about Chinese Panda But Please answer only if you USE this website before 1. does all their coins come with Capsule (the plastic thing that protects coin)?? No, unless it says on the advert it won't include a air tile, they come in a variety of things, I've had air tiles, plastic sheeths, shrink wrapped, paper envelopes all sorts. He can sell you an air tile if he has one, I got one off him for about 25p once. The advert for the Panda says So yes the Panda will come in an air tile. 2. do they provide certificates? No only if it says it includes a certificate. My eagles, sovs, philharmonics buffaloes, Nazis (yeah I got some Nazi silver coins) koreas, maples etc all do not have certs. However my 3.8 Toz balboas all have certificates, as do my Olympic coins. 3. is their website 'legal' (no scam)?? Richard Weighton is very trust worthy and has never scammed me (and I have bought a lot off him) he is generally trusted on HPC and other places and known as somebody who is honorable. Phone him up and have a chat with him (if its not busy). I booked some coins and he held it for me for a week even though the spot price went nuts that week. 4. is VAT already in price of coin? Usually the price you see advertised is the price you pay, usually + £5-10 postage. A massive massive load of silver I bought from him had about £9 postage off them. Play around and it will split the VAT (if applicable) on the coins rather than adding them on. Or phone him up and ask, the VAT is a bit funny on silver. 5. all their coins are brand new (eg. silver maple $5 from 2010) + uncirculated? Again if the webpage posting says uncirculated then it means they are going to be mint condition. If it says they are worn and used or CSCS rated less than 75 they are going to be visibly worn. All my silver from him bar a couple of spot price ones are spotless. 6. do you recommend this website? It is a very reputable company, the only iffy issue is that you have to phone them up to pay for goods as they no longer accept payment online as it was costing them too much. Or via bank transfer. but paying by card over the phone is pretty quick. He trades on his reputation and keeps his reputation absolutely pristine. He even answers the phone late at night. now one question about Panda - I know that people say 'dont buy coins from china' but the Panda is minted by government so... 1. If I buy Chinese Panda (eg. from weighton coin) will I get 1oz. of .999 fine silver? - or will I get some kind of 'fake' coin? Thanks If you buy from Weighton you'll get a 1toz coin of .999 silver i.e. a real one, the problem arises when YOU try to sell it. Because people are cynical of stuff coming out of China they won't buy it off you or they will buy it off you at significant undervalue to cover themselves.
  19. Are German taxes really higher though? In that does it include everything. And what do germans get back for it? For example UK extortion council tax pays for bin collection and government pensions and thats IT. While there are many many many hidden and disguised taxes in the UK.
  20. Seriously why do countries store their gold overseas? Why does germany keep 60% in the US. In that it seems to be a mirror reflection of paper gold companies vs real gold holders.... I.e. if you aint got it in your hand then you don't own it. Why do countries store it in London.... Why not do keep it in their respective home countries? What benefits does it incur to store it in London or New York? Since they probably have to pay a storage fee and have every chance to have it stolen. Seriously why?
  21. You know I think TPTB will simply have no choice rock and a hard place, in that they simply HAVE to fill out his order. If they don't confidence takes an even bigger knock and you get the striessand effect happen which the consequences are even worse. China and Hong Kong asked for their gold back from London when HK opened its gold depository, and China recently opened its own depository in Hunan.
  22. Nah, the government would use divide and conquer tactics to seize property. They managed it in Zimbabwe.
  23. The problem is you have the problem Injin described. I.e. the old get totally wiped out and they throw themselves on the mercy of their children and the government... Firstly them being your parents it will be almost impossible to say no, which means instead of the government robbing you to give to them, you will be giving to them directly. Secondly it wasn't exactly democractic in Russia for a while..... the old have a massive voting block and will vote for ponzi schemes to be placed onto the youth to fund their cushy life styles. Both of which mean either way the older people win and the younger people can only lose. The Russians could turn to the land and their countryside dachas to grow masses of veg to scrape out a living, can British people do the same? The Russian growing season is super short but they have the black soil which is super fertile and can cram in two growing cycles.
  24. As I said my gold is less seed money more escape money, therefore the selling food for gold is a bit irrelevant. Tbh I probably would sell some of it, as really I like to stay mobile and I can only carry so much on me. In fiction. There are often those who grab on to their gold and end up dying because of it since they don't want to let go. Much like having 50 kilos of gold on your back, 50 kilos of food is a similar handicap. There is also a problem with botulism. So I'd definitely sell the dented cans first. Or I would offer it to others to club together for mutual protection as I can't stay awake more than a couple of days. And if it got to such a bad level then there would be significant violence and looting.
