I have been looking at apartments in the Duquesa development near Estapona.
I even flew over last year to meet a couple of 'selling agents', however, when I refused to make a holding deposit without the usual diligence checks they disappeared rather quickly. Now I see that the apartments are still empty but when I make further inquiries all goes quiet. The original selling premise was that the bank had taken a deposit from a defaulting buyer so all that was left to pay was a straightforward mortgage. This would suit me as I do not want to make a hefty deposit of 30% etc.
Does anybody out there recognise this as a scam? All feedback will be greatly appreciated.
