  1. Interestingly, though, although usually overpriced, M&S Moto actually compares pretty favourably with the rest of the overpriced crap you get offered at service stations. I reckon that most of the jobs will be in marketing (they usually are) and in financial sales. There'll be some retail losses in there, undoubtedly, but as M&S have just opened in China, I don't see that side cutting down its expansion. It'll be price drops to bring them in line with consumer expectations at the expense of profit margins. And, of course, there'll be a line of investors waiting to kick Stuart Rose whilst screaming "SHOULD HAVE SOLD TO PHILLIP GREEN WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE!"
  2. Still at a loss to see where you're going. About 25% of Council Tax goes to pay for policing. Are you saying that people should be able to 'opt out' of police protection? About 10% goes on refuse collection; domestic and municipal. Are you saying that people should be able to opt out of having their rubbish disposed of - whilst still being culpable for any environmental hazards they may bring on their neighbours?
  3. So, victims of crime and old people should pay around 75% of Council Tax? Brilliant.
  4. I don't know why they're bothered about bankruptcy - money doesn't exist. Give me the freedom to exploit, bully and corrupt others with the only checks and balances being my own conscience and my assessment of fiscal success. That's what a group of stateless individuals (hardly a society) brings.
  5. Sinn Fein did, though. And they were an entrenched political organisation with paramilitary ties who also worked with local communities - like Hamas
  6. And if my Granny had a todger, she'd be my Granddad - there's a difference between randomly sending missiles over the border and ACTIVELY targetting schools you know to be occupied by civilians. George Bush declared War on Al Qaeda - does that mean all Americans are legitimate targets?
  7. Like shagging your cousin, just because it's legal, doesn't mean it's right.
  8. But there was a letter from Hamas in one of the pigeon holes - that made it a legitimate target, don'cha know.
  9. It was Titus Pullo who killed him, you historical Ignoramus!
  10. As someone on this site pointed out, Israel has national service, which means every adult Israeli is either military or ex-forces, and thus at least a semi-legitimate target.
  11. What really gets me is the handwringing on Israel's side about the civilian casualties "We don't want to kill civilians, but they're being used as a human shield, so we have no option." Yes, because every hostage situation is resolved by SHOOTING THE FRICKING HOSTAGES, isn't it?
  12. Of course, there's always this option. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7812875.stm Remember, it's only funny up to the point at which he dies of his horrific burns.
  13. I wa - er, a friend of mine was in a lapdancing club the other day - were there any male dancers or female bouncers? Were there buggery.
  14. Are you saying that man's NEVER been to the moon, or that when he eventually went there he was bloody lucky that it looked the same as the photos?
  15. I'm not making judgments based on this post solely. Check some of the poster's previous efforts.
  16. Because so many heads rolled after the Southall and Ladbroke Rail crash, didn't they? The Public Sector has to show compassion and culpability, so focuses on individual scapegoats. The Private Sector is concerned with protecting its investments, so individuals rarely either fall on or are pushed onto their swords in instances of Corporate Manslaughter, as that would be an admission of liability, and open the floodgates for more lawsuits.
  17. How noble of you. My wife and kids stay with me for love, regardless of what's deemed "best" by society. But hey, whatever works for you.
  18. Obviously 4.2 million South Africans are gay intravenous drug users - duh!!
  19. I know; my alarm clock went off two days early! Last time I buy one from Woolworths. Oh, hang on. . .
  20. Faites vos jeux, mesdames et monsieurs. (Edit: With apologies for confusing Tuesday and Thursday - still, Alea Jacta Est.)
