How your savings are affected if you move from Tax Credits to Universal Credit The government is proposing if you have over £16,000 in savings, you would normally not qualify for Universal Credit. But, if you’re moving from Tax Credits to Universal Credit, anything you have over the £16,000 limit will be disregarded for 12 months from the point you move to Universal Credit.   8. I remember when the £300k in 5 years article came out. People at work were warning me I needed to get "on the ladder" before it was too late. Did my best to explain that if nobody could afford houses then how could the price keep going up... They thought I was stupid... some of them still do
  9. Take your point but the US government can't engineer this type of outcome even though it is probably more desirable to them than they have now. Don't understand why ours can control it but theirs can't.

  14. Just heard this on Sky News. Said something along the lines of... prices expected to rise throughout summer with momentum picking up because of general election.
