  1. Quote " Yes, I'd rather be the other side of the Tamar too" A Cornish Nationalist, who doesn’t want to live there.
  2. It is the hypocrisy that pisses me off. The Cornish complain about “incomers” and emmit, taking jobs, clogging the roads. Yet there are many Cornish who live & work east of the Tamar. They are proud of their hard rock mining skills and claim that at the bottom of any mine all over the world you’ll find a Cornishman. Are the Cornish emmit when they travel the world? There is a lack of jobs in the West Country, but without the tourist, there would be even less. In the winter when there are no tourists to fleece, there is social security benefits. Benefits is not a lot to live on, but it is paid by someone. Similarly the Objective One cash (£350 million from EU & matched by UK) and now the Convergence Programme from the EU. All money from “outsiders”. (Crockle, & Emmit are derogatory terms for holidaymaker)
  3. rex, I see from your profile you are from Cornwall ( Kernow ) Why are you on east side of the Tamar. Exeter I believe you posted before. Taking our jobs, bidding up houseprices beyond the reach of the locals. We don’t want to live with a bunch of Cornish Crockles.

    Kernow abroad in Devon

Then Piss off back over the Tamar

  5. There is a reason why it is free to get in over the Tamar , But you have to pay to get out
  6. QUOTE (marko @ Jan 27 2008, 09:07 AM) Well said marko It has been pretty well agreed that the words 'ingenuity' and 'engineering' in English and 'ingéniosité' and 'ingénierie' in French are linked to the same Latin word-root and that the verb 'to engineer' means 'to be ingenious.'
  7. Is this the same Robert Cole on the April 17, 2007 http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle1663292.ece "Like many good ideas, it is a simple one, but Rugby has to prove that it has the expertise to handle the responibilities.[sic] Yesterday’s figures suggest that it is faring well in terms of profitability. Pretax profits rose 79 per cent to £10.25 million, not bad for a firm that last year had net assets of around £53 million. The shares, trading at a 24 per cent premium to net asset value, reflect high but justifiable expectations. Buy. " Rugby Estates PLC (RUES.L) 17th April 2007 – 644 16th January 2007 – 405 Doesn't look like a good buy to me
