  1. I could be wrong here, but there was a young medical consultant on SKY news about 10 days ago who said he is relieved he is not on front line duties because he is on immunosuppressive meds. And described himself as in a higher risk category as a consequence. I have no medical training, but I do know someone who is on house lockdown because of an overactive immune system. Isn't this what they refer to in...
  2. I believe the schools aren't closed but are open to children of key workers. With no deaths AFAIK of primary schoolchildren or even no cases, why shouldn't they try to open them to all pupils. This absolute lockdown is just trying to compensate for a late start to restriction.
  3. AFAIK the jury is still out on whether there is actually is any lingering immunity to this virus. I know colds and flu can have a long term immunity, but at this stage this new corona virus is still medium term unknown. Building for a target based purely on assumptions is beyond reckless. I think even Johnson has worked that out.
  4. More NHS front-line staff continue to be in harm's way. Surely the Westminster crew are lining up someone to take the rap for this continued incompetence?
  5. Yip. Hmm. Dunno. Sure. Wage suppression. Agreed. You blame the EU for that, I blame the Westminster clowns.
  6. No shortage of ICU beds. So 6,000 beds UK-wide is enough then? No one passed away from Covid19 in St Thomas' ICU? Why then build Nightingale which will "initially provide up to 500 beds equipped with ventilators and oxygen?" Read the posts of doctors and surgeons on this thread if you think there's no shortage. Oh, and while I'm at it : that PHE report preparing for the potential influenza pandemic, didn't even mention PPE at all.
  7. @Peter Hun Let me be the first on this thread to express my profound gratitude and respect to the like of your front-line nursing wife. It's selfless people like that who are keeping the death and lingering injury count down in the midst of this truly awful health crisis. ?
  8. As in RNA? so a by-product of the viral presence/anti-body destruction ?
  9. Where is all the PPE for those in the NHS front line? Big numbers of NHS front-liners in isolation around here.
  10. So some of the Italian medics have been saying retested patients are still infected after 20 days?! So what is the correct answer? Is immunity lasting for any length of time?!
  11. Quite. As far as I can see with this helicopter money of £2500 per month is that it is given to those in employment. What about the self employed? They get universal credit of what £340 or so per month? There are plenty high earning self-workers whose income can disappear at a stroke. How is that in any way fair? How about the poor schmucks on ZH working? Or the guy just laid off and no longer working? Universal credit at best.
  12. Just a quick thank you to.... LVMH, Zara, Beiersdorf, Brewdog and possibly many others for freely producing industrial amounts of hand sanitation product and distributing them to where it's required. ?
  13. The salient point is the banks are aligned right now with EU regulation : quite soon they won't be. If they want to be re-aligned they have to make that decision now. If not then they may not be offered 'equivalence'. Sure, 'global Britain' will have to align with another market if they don't trade in the EU. Rule taker, just following another different rule-setter. Ha ha ha . All that money and time spent only to have their lunch pulled from the table in front of them. No doubt Bozo has thought this through with his pseudo-scientist mate. Repeat. Ha ha ha
  14. Looks like the City may not be too pleased with this.... Apparently they (EU) spent 6 years molly-codling the UK, and are now embarking on removing those opt-outs.
  15. Yeah, yeah! A lot of 'unkown unkowns' but the Clown should keep them hanging on long enough !! ?
  16. A month out of date, but,.... Nukes a no-no. Mind you, with more and more of England under water, they might be able to store the subs at Cambridge on sea.
  17. I posted that about about 1,000 pages ago. I'm not sure the bridge makes any sense on an economic or engineering front. Anyway that's all yesterday's stale (fake) news. Popcorn time !! большое спасибо за прекрасный брексит.
  18. Oh for sure ! We just need to sit back and watch the Leavers box-tick as all the benefits accrue, one by one. ?
