  1. I think it's the french people on the site, they are getting confused by "homes going down" and "homme's going down".
  2. ...when you meet a pretty girl at a party who gives you her number but tells you she's just bought a flat so you dont call her... ...when you move your money between banks on a weekly basis... ...when you tell estate agents to call you back when the price has dropped 100K... ...when you see your property developer friends applying for bunkruptcy... ...when you see "Sold STC" signs changing back to "For Sale"... ...when you smile every 15 minutes thinking..."5 months of drops...i'm glad I sold 6 months ago".... ...when you no longer care about interest rates being dropped... ...when you think you soon wont habe to log onto HPC anymore... ... when you are told you are about to loose your job but know you can live on your savings for 2 years and still buy a better house than you can afford now... ...when you can think of 10000001 reasons why you know the HPC is here !!!
  3. I'm expecting the IRs to be cut...then shoot up due to the ramifications of the cuts become apparent
  4. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-166...49&tr_t=buy 28th Mar 2008 * Status changed: from 'Sold STC' to 'Available' and http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-142...53&tr_t=buy 27th Mar 2008 * Status changed: from 'Sold STC' to 'Available' Thats two houses in Frosty hollow came back on this week,. they both sold STC weeks ago !!!! I was surprised they sold as another house ( or two ) much the same were on at £235 !!!
  5. Well dont to everyone that guessed around -0.5%, the majority of entrants. Next month I wont bother putting on the +'ve selections I'm expecting a 1% drop next month !!!!
  6. Just got to work, checking out the nationwide results, now testing BTL friends...I tried to warn them 6 monmths ago, they told me there wouldnt be a crash. Enjoy
  7. Ahh, that's warmed the cockles of my heart. At last, someone is listening and accepting advice :-) My new "genius" status has only afforded me hatred and fear, which I kinda like
  8. It's on the C&E website too: http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/Fea...pton.3918755.jp lots of comments going on it.
  9. Paddles, why dont you put the boot in ? 6 months ago I stood in front of 6 smart ar*es in a staff canteen with them shacking their head and laughing up their sleeve because they thought me a nutter for selling and renting. Now, i'm a genuis !!! Get your fair share of head shacking and telling people how thick they are to be caught up in the housing mess. It doesnt make you popular, but hey, i dont like the w*nkers that were laughing up their sleeves at me.
  10. Looks like the consensus of opinion was pretty much around -0.5, I'd be very surprised if they go up. What time are they out tomorrow ? If they drop 1% then it really will be the end. The reports by the media will be 5 months of drops and no end in site...
  11. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-200...66&tr_t=buy 27th Mar 2008 * Price changed: from '£324,950' to '£249,950' That's a MASSIVE drop today !!!!! Wellingborough is particulary over-priced. Very poor area, lots of people speculated on houses. Anyone familiar with this area/house ?
  12. Another thing i've noticed is a trickle of places changing from STC to Available again: e.g. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-142...51&tr_t=buy 27th Mar 2008 * Status changed: from 'Sold STC' to 'Available' I think this will change into a flood in April/May !!!
  13. This is an interesting place: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-142...51&tr_t=buy sold STC to ages ago, today: 27th Mar 2008 * Status changed: from 'Sold STC' to 'Available' I think this is going to keep happening now. Ive seen 2/3 a day all week !!!! People are either working out the market is falling, being refused credit or chains are falling apart/dont exist. EDIT: Have a look at this: http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/Lea...7909.jp#2643483 I couldnt resist the comment. There is a lot of ECO houses in Northampton
  14. A sensible purchase, it will only go down in value 5% per annum, unlike houses
  15. You're a genuis too !!!! The term "Sub-prime" now seems to be being used as an insult, it's taken over from ASBO Anyone else notice sentiment reallty turning or we just seeing isolated cases ?
  16. I was glad he didnt say: "because I log onto a website called www.housepricecrash.co.uk and they say it is" :-)
  17. Has anyone noticed how many people recently have started to say that the housing market is crashing, or at least will crash ? I'm hearing it now on a daily basis from friends, colleagues, associates and random strangers. Anecdoatlly, I popped into see a friend of mine that i've not seen for a month or two at the weekend. He hailed me as a genius for having sold to rent last August and reckoned I was "in the know" !!!! He wouldnt accept it was random luck, so I now accept I am a genius I asked him why he thought the housing market would crash, he said "I watch the tele and read the papers and they say it's crashing"....
  18. "For the record, there are around 11.8 million mortgages outstanding in the UK. Let's say that the credit crunch makes life difficult for just a quarter (25%) of mortgage borrowers. This means that around four million homeowners may find it tough to arrange a new mortgage when they decide to buy, move or remortgage. Ouch! " I'd be more convinced he knew what he was talking about it he knew a quarter of 11.8 million is a little under 3 million and not around 4 million!!!
  19. Read as: "Sun warns the sheeple of thwe credit crunch and the perils of flipping houses". The end is nigh!!!
  20. Hi HouseDog, that made me chuckle for some reason That's quite a list today, sign of the times I think. I expect to see a lot more places come back on the market next month. I also came across these babies: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-201...=1&tr_t=buy http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-200...=1&tr_t=buy http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-202...=1&tr_t=buy Three pubs up for sale....what does that tell us ?
  21. Cool. It's good when we are all reporting the same information. Another anecdote from my weekend, popped into see an old friend of mine on saturday, not seen him for 3 months. He's a decent chap. Works hard. Not well off. Un-prompted by me he tells me that im a genius because I sold to rent and that I must have known something. He tells me the housing market is crashing !!! I asked him how he came to that conclusion, he tells me he reads the papers and watches TV !!!! I really am now totally convinced that the market is well and truely dead.
  22. You can imagine the conversation: Borrower: "You sold me a mortgage I couldn't afford to pay. Now my house has been repo'd, my wife has left me, I dont see the kids, my dog bit me and I now have rabbies, im gonna sue you're a*se off". Lender: "I see you lied about your income" Borrower: "" Lender: "Now f**k off".
  23. I could believe that it's a simple calculation error, except that the error has got bigger over the last 4 months as the market has slowed down !!!!! The trading standards people got back to me. Said Rightmove were doing no wrong but they do have a relationship with them, would have a look at what they are doing and would have a word with them. I think the EA websites/rightmove need strict regulation. Write to your MPs and complain. They wouldnt be allowed to do what they want if it was on TV and since rightmove really is the website of choice for any house hunter now they have a duty to offer an un(less)-biased service. Untimately people buying and selling houses fund their business.
