  1. Rubbish..while the Country was/is facing disaster it would play badly laying into Brown during the Bank Rescues. I think the timing is right considering Brown was milking it for all his worth earlier this week. But from now on Cameron must not let up,he must continue hammering the economy.
  2. Don't disagree, but it's more a reflection on the paucity of talent in the Commons/FSA/BOE than it is testament to Cables wisdom.
  3. No offence, but your constant ramping of Cable is a bit of a joke. He has only stated the blindingly apparent that anyone with their head mildly screwed on for the past few years had already managed to work out on their own-so he is hardly a genius.
  4. Like them or loathe them, neither Thatcher or Blair were short termists.
  5. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/articles/2005-7501.html This is a good one.
  6. Maybe not a banking freeze, but it came pretty close!! And to say nothing has changed in the last 10 days is pretty clearly not true.
  7. ..and the more new Houses built, the further prices will fall.
  8. Lets assume(for sake of my point) there is a shortage of housing- building more will reduce prices not sustain or increase them!! That is basic economics,so good news for us on here. If the Powers that be want to maintain house prices(which seems to be their position) this is the last thing they should do!!. They don't know their a rse from their elbow.
  9. They are indeed Left Wing, although they are the New Liberal Left not the old school Left.
  10. Diversification is the Financial Worlds mantra. How is it possible to Diversify if there is only 1 market ,so I think yes.
  11. Gordon Brown is handling it well!! It's a bit like being responsible for someones death but making good funeral arrangements!!
  12. Many factors have contributed to the mess we now find ourselves in. Nevertheless, it should be regarded as a collective failure. We were all caught up in the wholesale embrace of greed. Moreover, even if we omit the tolerance of absurd practices in banking, there was a failure by government and regulators to recognise the bubble, and the consequences that would befall us. B o l l o x - Me and my familt weren't !!!!!!!
  13. We will do whatever it takes..and by the way it's all Lord Palmerstons fault..nothing to do with us ,honest.
  14. Seems so unbelievable that all this was allowed to happen and was dreamt up by (supposedly) some of the most intelligent people on the planet!! Makes me frustrated to know I am unable to physically assault some of these people to be honset
  15. "It falls to the trade union and broader working-class movement to generate alternatives. Most immediately, unwinding the unsustainable levels of household debt that led to the crisis requires significant improvements in real income distribution. More broadly, public provision of quality housing, education, healthcare and retirement benefits needs to replace provision through capital markets. Achieving these demands will not only help reclaim terrain and wealth lost by ordinary people, but also help put back on the agenda the idea that conscious and democratic economic management is the only way to secure equitable prosperity and growth for all." It's nice to see an article in the mainstream press admit this at last BUT I can't be having this last paragraph!! Labour helped create the problem, now they want them to solve it aswell!! Un-real!!!!
  16. Not read all the posts so apologies if this repeats anyone else but for me No.1 is Pensions. This was the spark that lit the BTL fire and much of what is happening now.
  17. More free money, yippee. We are all going to be rich. Keep those presses rolling.
  18. Those that thought anywhere is untouchable aren't old enough to understand the housing market.
  19. Nice post..brings back some memories.Amazing how similar our childhoods were
  20. Spain have only had 4 years of that shower, we are in the 11th of ours. They are behind our cycle and will wake up from their stupor in 4 years time ,by which time Spain will be well and truly shafted.
