The Establishment Is Fearful
dances with sheeple replied to Social Justice League's topic in Current affairs
BW son ended up married to Smith`s mother, for two years according to the internet. That lyric has put me off Plant, what song is that in? Yes I remember the fuss over Bow Wow Wow and the album cover, was it changed to cover her up a bit or something? Didn`t know about the lyric though, interesting. -

Will do that, in a way I think RB has modelled his behaviour on that era, the rock star behaviour that basically went unchallenged at the time except for a few hotel bans or gig cancellations if the town council was a bit conservative? -

Can`t recall many allegations against him though? There was the thing with the 14 year old groupie who was supposedly travelling with him on a tour but can`t remember who she was or what the outcome was. Page didn`t stand up and directly call out the establishment, it was far more subtle references to mysticism and "freedom", is that what you are getting at? Jim Morrison on the other hand was standing on stage screaming for revolution and he was told to calm down by being offered the chance to go to a chain gang prison for a year or two for allegedly flashing on stage (no actual photos of the act exist though although there are loads of photos of the actual gig?) -

Some of the sub-forums over there have MASSIVE viewings, you are just another opinion in a fast moving stream, they know by the content of the post that you are HPC but it doesn`t alter the "vibe" there as it would here IMO, and unless the MN`er had seriously credible points to make on here (which would be surprising to me having spent time over there) they would just be a laughing stock, over there HPC`ers are no longer a pile on opportunity for the forum bullies because they know that their HPC nightmares are coming true! TBH I had to pile into that Crash thread that you posted because I just couldn`t read any more of their "chronic housing shortage" shite, LOL. -

I agree with your point that observing them changing their views is probably more interesting than attacking the threads and trolling them but I think dropping in the odd sensible comment is valid as it allows people reading to also get a sense of reality amongst all the obvious HPI trolls and people that can`t face reality. -

A good way to make people never want to come back is a bad smell, could you maybe get a couple of pigs and get some manure fermenting away in the corner of the garden, or would that be pushing it? -

That is like saying "Wake me up when people can no longer afford their mortgage debt or to take on new mortgage debt and don`t want to buy houses any more" .........it seems unreal and never going to happen until one day ...Boom...it is the new reality. -

Yes but in the 70`s it was cheaper to holiday at home, it isn`t necessarily cheaper now, as people have less money available to them AirBnB is going to get hit along with all other discretionary spending IMO, there is a definite thing going on just now where people are almost spending in defiance of the change in economic climate, almost like they feel the shift but are just too brainwashed and habituated to spend spend spend without consequence to accept that the free money era is over. -

The thing is with noisy neighbours who live there all the time it is easy to pin point when and where they sleep and make sure that your favourite AC/DC album is on at their sleepy time (along with hoovers, washing machines etc.) and pointing in the direction of their bed so they can hear every chord change and really feel (literally) every note of the solos, but with hen/stag nights/general weekend piss up people they are awake or at a club for most of their stay so don`t give a f*ck what you do or say, and usually their music is so loud that it would drown out any "counter noise" anyway. That is the basic problem with Air BnB, the transitory "not my doorstep" attitude that a lot of the users display. I did like the rule that said the owner needs to actually live in the same property but of course they could choose to be "out" when the guests are staying. -

Hopefully goes global, AirBnB flats hitting the long term rental or sales market will help crash prices AND rents, win win really. -

“I was physically assaulted for earning an honest living." Don`t know the details but if someone lives next door to endless noise and parties they are probably going to flip at some point and if they know who is enabling their misery that person will likely be the main target of their rage? -

MSE property boards are over as a credible source of anything other than VI propaganda, Mumsnet is a much bigger audience but you have to keep it friendly and generally on topic, too many charts, too much reality basically will probably get a ban because that could "upset" some posters! -

Can`t see cash buyers being interested at that price, 380k in 2018 would say to me maybe 300- 350k achievable now? Rough area, superficial make-over copied from the telly, 200k profit expected in the worst market in 20 years LOL, they re completely dreaming IMO. -

Yes, you will know who I am LOL but the traffic is dead on there now, just the usual suspects banging away with their nonsense and the odd unsuspecting fool being drawn in by the "Expert" in the title, Money Saving Emptiness. -

The basic problem with the house is that it is not worth 600k, one clown posted that if it was in their "leafy part of South Liverpool" it would be a 2 million pound house, there is an annoying level of inability still out there to see that lending rates can most definitely crash property markets. -

Yes, I have been trying to pull apart the idea on Mumsnet that 2017/18 prices are set in stone and there is a "natural inflation" built into houses that means we can`t slip back below those prices, when you ask for their thinking on this no one answers it is all just pie in the sky wishful thinking unable to accept reality thinking that is driving it, but posters are now highlighting the points you made about heating the thing, so there is some sense getting talked after all.
