Torygraph: Finally, some good news for those not on the property ladder: it's getting cheaper to rent

Funny there's no mention in the article of the pending rent hikes due to tax changes. Maybe they're too embarrassed to mention the duff theory any more...

Rents have been falling in London since last year. It is nothing to do with Landlords being hesitant about charging more. It is to with affordability by their customers. I have seen many landlords try and put up the rent to an existing customer, they move on and the landlords then finds he has to make a 5-10% reduction on the previous price to re let the property. Customers of landlords have been gradually moving further and further out of London for less expensive rents
