The net closes in on Merv and Co.
Sky: Police Seize Record Haul Of Counterfeit Coins
Detective Inspector Bruce South said: "This seizure is a significant blow to the network behind it - individuals clearly intent on undermining the UK monetary system by producing counterfeit currency on an industrial scale. "It is yet another example of the work this team is carrying out on a daily basis to tackle organised criminal networks."

@7 - Don't actually own any Panda's myself, but have seen them, very nice looking coin.
Seems a few people in the real world picked up on the irony of this story, judging from the comments on the original article.

This must be a Daily Mash spoof. The police were informed by 'a member of the public'. the cop's name is 'Bruce South' and the people behind it were 'intent on undermining the UK monetary system' (with four million quid?). And another story on the page is titled 'He's always touching me on the bum'.
