Meet the new boss...
Estate Agent Today: No more boom and bust for housing, Shapps declares
"A few months into office, and already the housing minister is saying: “There will be no return to the way it was, because boom and bust in housing cannot be allowed to happen again.” Grant Shapps said it at the National Housing Federation annual conference."
Righty-ho, Shappsy, we are now right at the top of a boom (in Gordon Brown's defence, he said these immortal words when we were just coming out of the "bust" phase), so are you trying to say "We will keep the bubble inflated for as long as politically possible"???

To repeat an old joke There will be no more boom and bust. From now on we will have bust followed by bust then more bust.

Politicians are exactly that. They are not economists or scientists. The market will always find a way of circumventing their attempts to ‘fix’ things, just ask Japan or take a look at what is happening in the USA. A Politician can’t prevent boom and bust anymore than they can prevent a plane crash by announcing they will rewrite the law of gravity.
